>>7739262The 90s era (1990-1996) was the big gateway era for a huge chunk of comic/X-Men fans. For a lot of people, that was when they first started buying comics, the Jim Lee/Rob Liefeld/PAD era was when they started buying comics and as such, the 1991 revamp with adjectiveless X-Men with Blue and Gold Teams and Jim Lee's redesigned costumes, Liefeld's X-Force, and the PAD X-Factor are THEIR defining version of the X-Men.
It's helped by the utterly atrocious nature of the franchise this decade with a TON of shitty costume designs and even more disastrous storylines (AvX, Rightclops, Jean mindraping Iceman gay, the Timelost O5 arc, Rogue being co-opted by the Avengers, Wolverine dying and being replaced with Old Man Logan future self, the entire debacle with the Inhumans, and Age of X-Men/Rosenberg's run, and now Hickman ignoring all these issues in favor of making shit even MORE convoluted with Moira McTaggert time travel hijinks and Xavier going full Nazi ala Magneto).
Also, the Giant Size X-Men stuff has been done to death already. Everyone's gotten made but Storm and even then, more people would rather have punk Storm or the Mark Silvestri costume of the Jim Lee costume or even her mid-90s civilian wear costume than her original outfit.
