>>7778708I've had a CR-10 for a while now, and I'm very happy with it. I highly recommend setting up Octoprint on a raspberry pi too, because I hate futzing with the SD card, plus it lets me keep an eye on long prints from my job downtown.
Its actually working on a huge print right now, too. I tried mounting the camera to the bed, but the FOV isn't good enough this way, as you can see on this print.

>>7779790I think you underestimate how much printed volume you get out of a single roll of filament. And if you intend to paint the stuff you print, it doesn't matter if you only have one color.

>>7778946No one said it was. Its just easier, and doesn't require me to sculpt by hand to get the initial shape. You can even do your post-processing on a printed part and cast that to make final pieces.
