G1 Overlord is possibly the weirdest decepticon leader we've seen. He runs his faction as if it was a family, is not actually alive for most of the series but being manned by a married couple, and has good intentions but is manipulated by a planet with a face and tentacles like every decepticon leader in japanese G1.

IDW Overlord brings absolutely nothing new to the story.
They could've done exactly the same character with several other decepticons and the shitshow that was MUH wreckers trilogy would've played out exactly the same.

Every autobot or descepticon leader was handled with gravitas in idw
Optimus, rodimus, Meg's, Galvatron, shockwave, thunderwing, dai atlas, deathsaurus, ft Max, scorponok.
Then we get star saber, who's introduced as a poor man's ultra Magnus, and is a henchmen, who gets cut in half by a smaller, weaker henchman, who's now a good guy for some reason.
It was really wierd they handled him like one of their many generic OCs, rather than an autobot leader

One of the preexisting non-characters who hasn’t had any real defined personality yet? One of the new OCs?

I’d suggest Heretech, as he’s a literal OC extra who for some reason seems to have made it into the new continuity, and has some pretty obvious religious themes going on, but it would kind of make him going around calling everyone ‘Heretics!’ a bit weird.

There are several parts, particularly in the legs, that didn't exist in the original Omega supreme that suggests a retool into another figure (panels and cavities) as well as omegas unusually small head, which makes sense if the remold is going to have a helmet a la zarak

The size of the head doesn't give it away that it's a retool, lots of modern bots have undersized heads and completely different proportions compared to their G1 counterparts, your theory holds no water. The fact that it has cavities is just engineering to save from unnecessary plastic use, if there's any resemblance and it's barely similar at all, it's coincidental. There's also no reason to scale down Scorponok when he was Fort Max's nemesis, him being down scaled to Omega size has no logic to it at all.

It’s not going to use omega for scorponok. It’s literally another retool of Metroplex. Fort Max’s base mode was sacrificed because they already intended to use it for Scorponok.

IDW had gems here and there like Spotlight: Kup, The Last Stand of the Wreckers (followed by a disappointing sequel), and The Life of Sideswipe. People were saying Scorponok WILL irrefutably be a retool of Omega Supreme because of the similarity of the chest details, but if you look at all previous incarnations starting with the G1 cartoon, he has the rectangular chest window thing, then the 2001 Takara collections figure has it too, which is what the 3rd parties based their design on, and after all that, you can see Hasbro had no choice but to fall in line with what became the standard. The chest design as you can see, is completely unrelated to Scorponok, thererfore they are not pretool/retools.

A few years ago, starting with combiner wars I think, Hasbro changed it's design methodology to revolve around a reuse of engineering, so assembly would be faster/more consistent due to part familiarity and all that
We saw it start with cw, grow with tr, and finally reach the "shared engineering" goal with potp hun grr
Then they pushed it to make chromia, who's basically a heavily modified retool.
With their current design methodology, they basically care more about matching up hinges and joints than they do something being aesthetically similar.

So believing they might stretch and squash and resurface omegas design a bit to fit the scorponok shape makes sense.

Not really when there are so many drawbacks to reverse engineering a design that's so radically different, it's like forcing some one at gun point to turn G1 Megatron into G1 Optimus because they each share a vaguely similar humanoid form in one mode.
The two proposed titan class figures share so little in common, Omega's chest becomes an entirely separate tank mode, also the arms and shoulders are completely unalike. What would be the point of trying to integrate any part of that design into a future Scorponok release? At that point it makes more sense to start from scratch, nothing from both figures lines up, especially not the alt modes.

We're saying they designed Omega, from the start, so that parts can be used as a starting point for scorponok.
Like how TR alpha trion was designed with broadside in mind, but they clearly didn't take the lion mode and turn it into a jet mode.
Basically both designs came from a shared source.

It's a very counter productive way of thinking and makes little sense on a Titan scale. Fort Max was more acceptable to do because the robot modes were far closer in similarity than Omega vs Scorponok. There are too many differences to consolidate into one shared design and too many pitfalls they throw themselves if they do this (putting Scorponok at the same scale as Omega when that would throw him off of Fort Max's scale). It doesn't make sense.

I bought that Siege and to be honest he is the only Siege figure I've bought since last year. Been going back through older stuff and 3rd parties because Siege isn't really interesting for me. I still need Jet Fire and Springer but that's the gist of what I want for the current Siege line that is out. Of course I will get that Prime to replace that Prime that I'm using for my season 3 shelf now and use the original voyager as a toy to fiddle with at my desk.

I've only been into Transformers for 10 years or so, and it literally ALWAYS pays to wait. Hasbro just fucking harvests money from impatient geewunners who only care about filling their shelves as fast as possible instead being patient and seeing what happens within the next year or two. They're simply being more blatant than ever about it, now, to the point where Siege was literally exactly what fans wanted (a focused attempt at recreating geewunn) but with a couple of terrible features forced in (nothing alt modes and battle damage) to make the figures immediately replaceable.

THE only thing I liked about tetrajet Starscream was the way the thruster end up in the back in robot mode.

Supr easy, barely an inconvenience, mold a slot into the vehicles using the primemaster armor mold. use Primemaster as Godmasters/Powermasters changing the symbol backpacks for engines and DONE!
