Sweet, just yesterday I thought about making one because I saw pic related on /tg/. >>>/tg/68651717
It’s a currently going kickstarter (like 10 days left I think). The gimmick is being able to swap arms, legs body and backpack and they even come with magnets to make it easier.
Of course not quite as modular as some other stuff here and a bit pricey due to also being a game, but the designs are pretty cool nonetheless. (And they might be articulated?)

With Toy Notch and Emerson Tung working together, I seriously hope we get to see the Steam Knights happen at some point. Those were some of his coolest designs and the thought of toys of them makes me salivate something fierce.

Things like 1/6th are basically gonna be prohibitively expensive and large. They'd be over a foot tall and wide, and nearly 3 feet long.

However for smaller sizes the largest and cheapest examples of shipping containers I could find are things like this

The Tecco Toys guy is asking for prices people would be willing to pay on Twitter and Instagram.
50$-70$ range seems to be the general trend for mech+pilot. And 20$-25$ for a single pilot (which I consider quite a lot for 1/35).
Also interesting to hear that one mech consists of 70-80 pieces and a figure of 15 (not all modular, just the number of molds needed, as I understand it)

These are just suggested prices by random commenters. And for the record I saw far more suggestions for $10-15 for individual pilots. Given that the mech is mostly a skeleton with parts on top of it, maybe it won't be as expensive as they initially appeared. The only size pic seems to be next to an arbitrarily sized pen (he linked that when someone asked about scale).... so I'm not really sure how tall these things are even supposed to be.

Given that the AstrobotsxToysAlliance figure was pretty close to them, I'd have to think they're Toys Alliance figures.

Are there any more pics from this convention? It'd be nice to see some more detailed shots.

like 90% of the body is this guy: You can see that the legs are made up of the upper leg combined with the arms via a hexagear connector. The hips are stock, the "side guns" are just the lower legs, the chest is the main body, etc. The riding section is...judging by the controls...are from the reyblade or lord impulse (They're effectively identical). Those blue "arms" that hold the pilot in are the only things I'm not really sure where they're from.

Ah just saw on their FB, this isn't a character in the Astrobots universe, so technically (in-universe) his body isn't reusing Apollo's. He will be a part of Toys Alliances new Archecode line (those little bots that were standing near the "bounty hunter").

The first wave of Astrobots (Apollo and Argus) are available on BBTS on preorder for December, and presumably elsewhere but I'm unable to check at the moment. Toy Notch told me quite a few months ago that we should expect more releases by year's end, but perhaps they're not quite ready and are doing a re-release (maybe also firing up the molds to also do the Bounty Hunter for later release). They're great figures, and not super modular at the moment (Argus's wrist guns can move between them), but there the drones in the pics above show that there may be some modularity in the future. Great robot figures, either way.

I think it's more that MFT know their limits. Their Cosmos Battles KO is known to break easily and they've seemingly abandoned the moonbase repaint of Diabattles, so even Diabattles might've been too complex for them to KO efficiently.

This Mammoth Truck they are making though, looks like it's made out of simplified Big Powered leg modules, so maybe they're coming up with simplified stand-ins for the larger Diaclone robots.

Those prices are not expensive at all for indie toys, and more so if they're developed by one guy, with tons of articulation and engineering involved.

Just look at the price of pretty much any indie figure, they'r'e expensive.

I'll be suprised if a mecha and pilot are below the $100 mark.

I don't even know why he's taking suggestions from IG users, like that would impact the cost of producing these.

Those drones seem to be the first instance of intended modularity(?), though Argus's wrist cannons could also be given to Apollo. If you see that poster in the background they also show some of the accessories for Athena and Artemis being used with the first 2 Astrobots. So there's some.

Also interesting that A03 and A04 are those Drones, when we assumed it would probably be the two fembots. A07 looks really unique. And the bounty hunter from the ToysAlliance collab looks really nice, and that black and white with red and gold accents is looking pretty great. He seems to only have one eye? (kinda like Slade perhaps, or maybe he'll have some sort of eye patch?)

The pipe is almost definitely removable, but I didn't actually consider a hinged jaw, but it certainly looks like it might be able to. It's already an instabuy for me. Hopefully it isn't too much more pricey than the base Astrobot (with the extra parts I'd hope for no more than $20 more).

As per where to buy them, Aliexpress is where I got mine. Just be aware you're gonna be waiting a month or so for shipping and the box is inevitably gonna be fucked up

That's just the thing about the colours, I don't know which one I want! My first choice was black one because of the translucent red/orange piece, then grey because it is the most overall uniform between these 2, then the sand because I like its inner colour and the contrast it gives it (plus the unique colour on the shoulders). Then the official shots have some weird lighting going on so it's hard to judge based on those.

Also, how sturdy are they? Do they hold together solidly?

I have the black, its quite nice. You might want to just save and get all three for 60.

They hold together well, maybe a bit too well for modular things. I actually snipped the pegs a bit to make them easier to disassemble and they still hold. Together fine. Just wish they came with more connectors and other parts. Guess they want you to buy multiple.

Finally some different angles. I've been wanting to see those posters on them as well. Agreed. If she just had a robot face or even a full faceplate would be cooler and more synchronized, the lips feel a bit out of place imo.

Artemis is the faceless one of the duo, it seems. A more robotic alternate head would be nice, but there may be a reason in story for her appearance, which is good enough justification if that's what they're going for. Synthezoids or androids or cyborgs are all good justification for having a human like appearance, assuming there are still humans around wherever this takes place.

Not really, no. At present the only thing you can shift around are Argus's wrist guns. Those wasp and spider drones appear to be kind of modular Vulcan seems like he might be a smaller robot inside a bigger robot suit. Athena and Artemis seem to have some parts that can be moved around, at least their weapons.

Looks like the only partsforming is the the shield and a couple small connector bits to secure the rear wheels in car mode.

I'm tempted to get this and see how I could tweak it to my liking... I'd move the rear wheel modules so from its hips to the backpack, and angle them up instead of down. Also I'm curious how the car mode would look if you left the shield off and collapsed the robot chest/head back into the torso

I'm surprised that they haven't done them. These are a bit too Halo-esque for me. It's not bad but it looks like a cross between Locke, an ODST and some generic Spartan armors.
A figure with full on removable armor would he sweet tho.
