Some places certainly but most people working retail dont know what's worth buying and reselling for collectors aside from whatever the big it Christmas toy is.

Biggest thing in retail is hiding shit on clearance and buy it all when it goes to the cheapest price then reselling it at a flea market. You can get in trouble for it but unless a manager is just looking for a reason to fire someone its ignored as long as the shit gets sold.

Have you see the Jumptrooper? A lot of it is reuse, but the plastic / finish they are using is so much better. It might be the best looking BS Stormie along with the BS Sandtrooper (Entertainment Earth exclusive), in my opinion.

Yep, can't believe how well the design looks. This month the SHF A New Hope Stormtrooper comes out. One of the primary reasons I bought it, was the excess amount of unique weapons it comes with. So I can pair the Jumptrooper with the RT-97C heavy blaster rifle.

I put him in a stand to take the weight off and the ankles straightened out mostly, but it's a pretty shitty issue for a figure to have

What I do to keep IG-88 standing is, cross his feet so they touch each other and basically lock in place. I got tired of him falling over all the time in my display case

He isn't a shit figure, but until you figure out how to stand him "correctly ", he will fall over often. I will say, I am surprised Hasbro didn't improve the mold after they annouced IG-11. Maybe I gave them too much credit. It's much easier to just repackage the same old figure for the 3rd time in a row. If you have the bounty hunters and need to complete them, then I would say get 'em. I don't think SHF or Bandai is going to make one for years.

bossk is fine, his arms don't have a good enough range of motion at the elbow but other than than that, his mouth can open and he's 100% accurate to Empire from what I can tell. Plus the rifle is unique.

Ya, that's what bums me out about the IG-11 BS. It's not even accurate to the real thing. The only major "difference" is the bandolier and a few paint apps. They totally forgot to do the hands. It's an easy pass for me

I think it had something to do with, Hasbro didn't want to "piss off" CIB collectors. Dumb, I know.. I hear it's the main reason they changed the packaging to a blister card. The CIB collectors threw a fit once they announced they were re releasing the figures.

Makes me glad I got the model kit as a gift. I had fun building it and it's a pretty good figure. A little tall but not very noticeable. Also I usually end up repainting stuff on Hasbro figures anyway so at least with the kit I got to start with a blank canvas.

They've started to this year, though the results are really hit or miss at this scale. Some of the Reys and Lukes I can into this weekend had really inconsistent faces.

Seriously, I'm shocked that they didn't make this on of the first Black Series figures for TROS, but with Hasbro whittling down it's Star Wars line, I'm wondering if they didn't push this to the TVC line to see how well it does this Christmas before deciding to scrap 3.75-inch stuff altogether in favor of just focusing on Black Series stuff in the future.

I was ignoring all the 3.75=inch stuff since the figures I picked up at the TFA launch were all pretty "eh" - I had no idea the TVC line could be this nicely detailed and articulated.

This is one of those things were I almost hope the TVC line *does* get canceled so I'm not tempted to grab up any more of these damned things.

It's disappointing but not unexpected. Hasbro's always had a tendency to preview only what's immediately going to be out, especially in movie years. So right now it fits their MO to be focused entirely on TROS and any stuff that may be coming out before the movie, and not reveal anything coming out afterward. This is why I never get my hopes up for any of their panels.

Yes, they do, the new Luke Skywalker figures all have it, with new head sculpts. The new Yavin Ceremony Leia has it also and most of the recent figures have it, including that Stormtrooper disguise Han that came out.

I don't particularly collect for TVC, but they do have some great stuff. This year I bought the Combat Assault Tank, the Combat Assault Commander that goes with it and the Rogue One Stormie. All were great and almost sucked me into buying more for the line. I also own the BS AT-ST, BS Admiral Ackbar, TVC Snowtrooper (from like 2013?) and the Doctor Aphra 3 pack. Shame the line will most likely be killed off by next year

Ew. This is the first time I've seen him from a head-on angle, that looks awful. The rest of his suit is neat, I just can't into that helmet. I don't really get the change in design language, nearly every other EU Mandalorian helmet design we've seen had the flared out bottom.

It doesn't really feel like they're trying to recapture it either though. A lot of what contributed to that feel back then COULD still be done now--focus on practical effects and sets, hire matte painters, aliens done with puppeteering and costuming alone, all to try to recreate that gritty, scrappy feeling. But nobody seems interested in that. I know that most of what I mentioned here boils down to aesthetics, but that's my field, so it's the only part I feel I know enough about to comment on.

My theory about the Mandalorian is he has some relation to the empire. His shoulder armor and leg armor is the same as a Shoretrooper. Unless, it's just purely fan serivce they won't explain

On one hand, it would be obvious and cheap
On the other hand, they want to appeal to the common retard who at this point probably doesn't know Boba Fett's name well enough to consider it an option, or might even just assume it's him because they look similar

And they haven't been playing up any kind of "who's under the mask??" angle with the marketing, which makes me think it could end up being a casual reveal or hint but never actually matter, if they do decide to do it, and then they can create the market of "15 clues about the Mandalorian's identity!" youtube videos for dummies who don't get it when he mentions having dealt with a Sith Lord before or something

I think this project sort of came about because the Boba Fett movie went quiet and I think they sort of softly rebooted it as The Mandalorian. Plus a lot of his look is borrowed from the 1313 game which was also about Boba. They'd probably use the Sarlacc as an excuse as to why his face and voice have changed from Jango's.

But really I just hope he's a new character. Favreau did already say he's an actual Mandalorian, not adopting it like Jango or Boba did. Either way, I fucking love his look and the figure.

Scarcity. Greedo was a massive pegwarmer when he was first released because nobody really wanted to spend $20 on a tertiary character like him at a time when the line was still very new. He's the kind of character people want to buy after they've already gotten enough core characters and go "well I may as well get a few side characters." The problem was, he was in the second wave of a line Hasbro still considered experimental at the time, at a point where key characters like Vader, Chewie and Yoda still hadn't gotten figures yet. For a line that new, people wanted the big names first, so putting Greedo in that soon was a disaster and he flopped.

But because nobody bought him, that means there's very few Greedos available on the secondary market, and now that a few years have passed and the line has legs people who passed him by now realize they have a gap in their collection. Low supply and high demand drives the prices up.

it's annoying because I've always put Greedo with the bounty hunters from Empire in my mind, especially considering that Greedo is the only one besides Boba Fett ever shown actually acting as a bounty hunter in the OT
