So Bionicle's been referenced in both of the Ninjago City sets and even a Hidden Side set now, are there any other times it's been referenced in other themes?
I know Apocalypseburg has a hidden (intentional, according to the designer) Three Virtues symbol underneath the torch's flame. Is there anything else?

Oh totally, but remember this is meant to be a 20th anniversary thing. Bionicle's anniversary is in 2021, so it seems like we're jumpong the gun, but then you remember that Lego's review and design periods are long as fuck (assuming it gets accepted. Its more than possible tho, given that official Lego designers have voiced their approval of it already, as well as the fact its not uncommon for multiple sets to be accepted in a given voting period).
I'm just extremely impatient, and want it to reach the review process asap.

I'll definitely post more as I make more, it really is way too much fun to be able to play with all the sets from 2001 and my end goal is a shortfilm but I don't want to hype up something that might never happen. There's been too much of that in the BIONICLE Community.

This reminds me how I once realized (probably 100% coincidence), but Onepu, Jaller and Matoro have their bodies be primary color of their Toa, and Kongu, Macku and Hewkii have the secondary colors. Those are the same "teams", as you were, as G2 bigger and smaller Toa

It mostly comes from the Internet, differents sources like mecabricks, stud.io and models found here and there.
I did remodel some pieces (namely the toas arms/legs and torso) to be able to rig them properly and Onewa/Vakama's staffs because I couldn't find them online.

I have the intention of making everything available but I want to make sure everything is the best it can be before I do.

Their hips and neck configurations are different, so no. Whenua's a manlet, and Nokama and Nuju are taller than the others. You can build them to look like 1:1 copies, but this is how they're meant to look if you follow the instructions 100%.

it's very frequently inaccurate by its own standards though, so I'd be careful. Ta matoran are never ever shown to have orange parts throughout either game, EXCEPT for one scene from MONG I where the Ta koro guard show up at the Kini Nui. In the same scene, Onepu's eyes change from green to yellow. Jaller's feet are sometimes red I think, and Hahli's change color all the time across the flash animations as a whole.

Tehutti wore all black on Mata Mui, with a Kakama instead of his Metru Nui Huna.

On the subject of Hafu,Taipu, and Kapura's Ruru/Pakri masks being flipped in MNOG I, see pic related I guess. MONG I and II can be made consistent with eachother if you suppose he just swaps masks upon being rebuilt, but then the original CG art doesn't make sense. Beats me if the books describe any of them.

It was MNOG 2, on the Ga koro beach, before the Onu/Ga koro kohlii match; you had the option to address Hafu as Taipu. By then they had switched masks.

reminder that characters can canonically change masks casually and that they are not perceived as the character's faces at all, and thus changed masks are not necessarily common, but definitely not unheard of.

Yet in the same set as Hafu, Wairuha's mask inexplicably looks like a Hau instead of a Miru. I assume they wanted to sell a chrome Hau cause it was the most well known mask, and its story purpose was an afterthought.
The Pakari-Ruru confusion in MNOG was totally a misunderstanding though, thanks to the shitty reference material Templar had to work with, blurry photos, rudimentary 3D models from the PC game and prototype images. That's also why the MNOG Tohunga have prototype arms and legs instead of looking like the sets. The Mahi were also designed with the prototype Tohunga arm in mind.

The issue is that >>7802179 would require not one but two mask changes, to and from the same two masks, to explain how Kapura had a Pakari up until being rebuilt, and yet still is pictured with a Ruru in his tohunga CG. Something like Kopeke's change makes a lot more sense.

Yeah that's why I want to clean up everything before doing a proper public release, I've already found new version of the noble kanohi, better these but I have yet to upgrade them. Ideally I'd redo everything but I don't have the skills yet, I've tried and failed.

Where? Because most of the issues just seem topological or a matter of generally low polycount. Even what was in the previous picture could be improved without moving vertices around, just changing which are connected where and maybe adding a few loops.

Also, wasn't the Kaukau a bit blurred everywhere but the visor? It just dawned on me that the top of Gali/Hahli's heads are a little more visible than I'm used to seeing.

Assuming it's some sort of Bionicle anniversary thing, and ignoring what the leak exactly said for a moment, 18 could be split up into 3 groups of 6, which just happens to be the exact number of main Toa teams throughout the story (Mata/Nuva, Metru/Hordika, Inika/Mahri). Having a set for each "main character" would be a pretty nice way to pay homage to the line as a whole rather than just a few specific years of it.
Of course, as much as I like the idea, I really don't see this happening. Not just because it seems like way more effort than you can reasonably expect from Lego given past evidence, but also because if they actually did put that much effort in there's no reason why they wouldn't also put in Takanuva and characters from 09-10.

Some dude leaked a lot of stuff regarding mlp's show, including scrapped episode plots, notes and revisions. You can pretty much see who fucked up what and how, along with the social dynamics in the production. While not relevant to bonkles, the whole thing gave me a new perspective on Greg and his handling of our beloved franchise.
There are two very important rules on the continued success of a franchise. First, the staff needs to put it's foot down on executive meddling. Second, the staff handling the franchise must be passionate about it. Almost always, it's the creators themselves who are the only ones passionate for a franchise. And what did LEGO do? It gave Bionicle to a guy for whom it was just another job.

The quality dropped under Farshtey. Nothing was as good as the first saga. But it wasn't a no brakes trainwreck either. Greg was involved in various projects simultaneously including Exo Force. We was having a hard time with his wife too. Accepting fan ideas and making them canon was a way to get his job done quick and also keep the tards among the fanboys off his back. And I think he also put his foot down when the executives wanted to include a real kid in the Mask of Light movie. Takua was a middle solution, childlike but not an outright lore rapist.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though Greg didn't perform like we would had wanted, he did hold the fort.

I don't think any of the lategame issues had much to do with Greg. I doubt things like the Nuva/Kal type rehashes or anything toy related like that was his doing. It's true Greg was overworked, but Lego's own willingness to run employees into the dirt indicates a problem higher up on the chain. Greg only gets bashed for a few key remarks he'd made, and because it's all-around easy to make fun of him.

To be fair Bionicle never properly failed. Back in the late 00's they pulled the plug first and foremost to ensure the possibilty of a successful return of the franchise: it had a very slow decline since the peak in 2002 and in 2008 (the year the decision was taken) it was doing just ok, not well nor most importantly bad.

The early demise of G2 is one of the greatest mysteries in modern LEGO history, since an actual failure would have been common knowledge by now. It probably was a matter of conflicting budget decisions by LEGO and such a strong relevance from Ninjago that the company did not forsee back in 2012, when they decided to reboot Bionicle. Not releasing a third year at all was strange indeed: such a colossal failure would have been very hard to hide, as I said.

Any decent story can be rebooted as many times as a decent creative team can do it, and a shitload of franchises are out there to prove it - toys are not exception, see Transformers and MLP. G2 was a nice reboot per se and did not have to exist to please a small audience of American manchildren in their 20s: the execution was good, but the marketing was a clear proof that sadly LEGO itself shared this twisted belief with the remaining Bionicle fanbase - that is that G2 had to satisfy the needs of people way out of the target audience.

I think there are many bits of lore that could be improved, streamlined, or retconned that would make it more interesting, and taking different spins on similar events might make it more engaging overall.

If you can call the color schemes "elegant."

Design-wise, the sets were a bit pricy but fine.
The generous usage of trans pieces and stickers/prints trying to pretend to be greeble makes the sets look incoherent and garish.

At the $20 price tag/parts count, compare the CCBS Toas with a Titan like Brutaka or Axonn.

The new team did not know how the original team of Bob Thompson, Martin Andersen, and Christan Faber did it. From the presentation that new team had at ComicCon and that stupid art book they released after the line's cancelation, they only had a superficial knowledge of Bionicle, barely knew why fans liked the old sets, and drew Evangelion fan art as Bionicle concept art (search up the art book).

There wasn't enough for older fans and was too expensive (in addition to being undermarketed) and generic for younger fans (since so much of G2 was reliant on prerequisite knowledge of G1).

But Greg was never in charge, Lego didn't "give" the property to him. And I'd say he was passionate, otherwise he wouldn't have hung around fan sites for so long. He wrote the serials and most of the books in his free time, and asked Lego if he could keep doing it after the toys ended. He clearly had fun doing it and saw it as more than a job.
He just viewed the story differently than the likes of Faber, Thompson or Swinnerton, or the people at Templar. To them, Bonkle was an epic and kinda whimsical fantasy with a meaningful but not overly deep science fiction background and some light philosophical undercurrents. Greg approached it more as surface level capeshit where the "depth" came from a convoluted yet never properly developed expanded universe that only looked impressive on a wiki or in an encyclopedia. The others were creative visionaries who put their personal experiences into the franchise, and Greg worked best when following the frameworks they had dictated. But left to his own devices, he mostly just wrote Bonkle-fied versions of whatever comic, TV show or video game he happened to like. He had no grasp on MNOG's characters and tone, he had little visual imagination and he was more comfortable with writing endless, unstructured stories of edglelords killing and shittalking each other with dumb twists happening every other minute. I think that's what a lot of people have chastised him for, and for his unusual stance on plotting.
I agree though that he shouldn't be blamed for everything that went wrong with the line, cause he never was in a leadership position. Almost none of the main story's faults were on him and he never had input on toy design. I also think that however we feel about his ideas or writing/plotting style, he was probably far better than most alternatives Lego could have chosen as a writer because he was so dedicated. I mean he admitted he yelled at someone over the 2005 betrayal arc cause he hated it so much.

There's no legit source, but I think Greg may have said it once on the old BZP. Lego got multiple movie pitches from a number of studios but they rejected them all and kept looking for companies that were ready to meet Lego's own demands. Eventually there were only two studios left that had fit the bill, Creative Capers and an unnamed one that some people speculate might be Studio Blur. They chose the former because Bob Thompson thought they understood Bionicle.

T B H I doubt Bob, Martin or Christian knew either. G1 had a kind of loveable jankiness to it, like dark souls. You could improve them, but you wouldn't want them to get "fixed." I question the rear toes, the orange at the end of the tail, and something about how low the shoulders are with the armor flow that's around there. The armor on the legs is flowing in rather than out like the tail's, but it's also on the front side rather than the back, so from a kneeling position it's all flowing with the same grain. The arms only match the grain when he reaches for the sky though, which the shoulders/shouldercuffs suggest against doing, as does how you've cut the armor there. Also, his tail can't seem to curl up like a scorpion's; it seems more like an armored cat's tail. I can't properly imagine this guy on all fours, I guess. The back and the legs I really like though.

Thanks for the info, the bits you pointed out have been plaguing my mind, it’s the reason I even posted it on here. It’s designed to be in a crouching position as opposed to all fours, so it strikes with its tail round the sides instead of hanging overhead, also why I switched the stringer to a hook. I do really like the body design, but it does come with its issues, some you stated, so I’ll see if I can make some changes without compromising the design too much, thanks again.

They also come in several other colors. If 53451 came in tan I would have suggested that, but reddish brown or black will work with the color scheme you've got.

There were also the Matoran that had to be subtly renamed for legal reasons, like Jala/Jaller or Huki/Hewkii. Would have been interesting if that had been integrated into the universe beyond just a quick "naming day happened". For example, by making it a general rule that names with a more English-like pronounciation belong to particularly distinguished individuals, while the average villagers/citizens/mooks follow the less fancy original naming style. But I suppose that would have been pretty hard to pull off after names became such a sensitive issue.

I wanna get a set or two from G1 that I never owned before.
I own all the Toa Mata and Mctoran, a few Bohrok and Toa Nuva and 03 Matoran, all the Toa Mahri and 2007 matoran/titans except Nocturn and Maxilos, all the Phantoka/Mistika and matoran/titans aside from Icarax/Mazeka/Vultraz/Jetrax T6/Axalara T9, all the Glatorian/Legends and Agori aside from Skrall/Atakus/Vorox/Fero&Skirmix/Thornatus/Skopio, and all the Stars.

I've been battling between getting the Barraki or the Toa Inika, or some of the 2001-3 titans, or maybe something else entirely, I don't know.

I'd second Tarakava, but any rahi would be a good choice. Same with a Barraki, any aside from Ehlek would be good choices. Only other recommendation is an Exo-Toa, if you can afford it. I believe those suckers have become fairly expensive.

Guess I'll give my hot take too
2001: The Classic That Started It All (9/10)
2002 & 2003: The years blend together. Still, good stuff throughout. (8/10)
2004: The increased lore that this place added always holds a place in my heart. Plus, the sets are really solid. (9/10)
2005: I never minded this tangent, and again, the sets were really nice. I also always liked the Rahaga being the Toa Hagah. (8/10)
2006: YO YO PIRAKA | A solid year in everything except the Toa sets, and while its story wasn't quite as good as the year following, it set it all up by setting the tone. (8/10)
2007: AND THEN I CRASHED INTO YOU | The single best year Bionicle ever had, in my opinion. Not exactly contrarian, but still. Best Titans, best Toa, best villains, best story. (10/10)
2008: Continuing the quality main sets and story, it just felt a little odd with some of the choices every which way. The Titans and Matoran were sub-par, though. (8/10)
2009: I liked the Glatorian, OK? There, I said it. I thought the sets were really interesting, and I liked the expansion to the lore it provided (again). (9/10)
2010: Sigh. I actually think the send-off they gave as far as story was concerned wasn't bad. I liked it. But it's still dreadful in every other capacity. (5/10 I guess)

I feel the opposite. Not a big fan of the super bright colors, small heads, and helmets instead of masks. But the amount of worldbuilding for an entirely new landscape that they packed into a single year was fucking impressive. Ignoring the serials and sets completely, 2010 was also solid. Journey's End has some of the best writing Greg's ever done, and the robot fight was an awesome way to send things off with a bang.

2001 & 2002: 10/10, solid all around
2003: 9/10, the Kal sets are minor flaws to an otherwise outstanding year
2004: 8/10, a fun change of pace that really helped make the world feel so much bigger, with some great sets to help even with a few flaws.
2005: 6/10, a somewhat bland year but with at least an interesting concept, some of the sets were great, titans especially.
2006: 9/10, back on top again with all cylinders firing. Only issue I still have is with the Inika heads/masks
2007: 8/10, a year that in retrospect I have a lot more love for, even if the aesthetics and disjointed story made it difficult to go along with.
2008: 6/10, a year with some of the highest highs and lowest lows, it's hard to hate the Nuva's return, the new characters, story, and what the entire year lead up to, but some of the sets were truly atrocious.
2009: 7/10, I've a lot of similar feelings towards this as I do with 2008/2009. I enjoy it more in retrospect, but for all of the good it had, it came off as incredibly bland at times. Thornaxx launchers were bad, sets were hi and miss, but the new setting was refreshing.
2010: 1/10, there is nothing to redeem the Stars.

2001: really nice introduction, mnog really brought out the best of this time, awesome sets, too
2002: also good but not as great as 2001, nevertheless good and the bahrag were great
2003: Toa Nuva were good but the same bohrok enemy again was meh. Rahkshi and the Mask of Light saga was bionicles saving grace
2004: Origins are always good, I really dislike the metru builds and the vahki were subpar. Titans were amazing though and Ultimate Dume is really cool
2005: Again, subpar toa and villan sets. Titans were amazing but 2005 is one of the best times as it gave us the best movie in the series and the best book (Time Trap). We also really get to see the most fleshed out display of traitorship, something that is well known in the bionicle universe
2006: Piraka and Inika builds are all I remember for this era. Very forgettable but this was around the time youtube started and bionicle stopmotions are what got me into this series. Story was alright, not the best. Of course, great titan sets.
2007: My favorite series as this was the first time I actually got my first bionicle sets. Barraki were a great reintroduction of non clone villan teams. Story was incredible as well. Titans were honestly not that great and this was around the time pieces started to get really weak.
2008: Honestly, solid beginning but the end was meh in general. I fell out of bionicle after this time and 2009/10 weren't that great in my opnion. I didn't like the whole rebrand and the departure from the MU.

Im basically 100% the same anon, though i personally love the Toa Inika and am only a little underwhelmed by the Mistika Toa - I liked the Mistika Makuta tho.
I like 2005 but at the same time I always thought it would've been more interesting and made more sense if 2005 took place back in the present, and it was the Toa Nuva that got mutated.
If Bionicle got perpetual reboots with minor lore variations in the same vein as TransFormers, this is easily a path that could've been explored by a reboot.

2001:blah blah iconic blah blah atmosphere blah blah mnog blah blah best year
2002:the only year where the comics were the central plot media. d'anda's art was phenomenal but compared to the underground finale from the mnog it just doesn't have the same depth. everything else about this year was birilliant, especially because all the good stuff from 2001 was more or less still around in some capacity.
2003:the "2001-2003 was the golden age" mentality really ought to just be 2001-2002, because 2003 was a pretty crummy retread of the first two years. the toa were worse, the matoran were worse, the bohrok were worse, the mnog was worse, makuta was worse, the sets started losing a bit of their lego/technic "constructed" feel, everything started getting duller and chromer. the movie was fine on its own terms, but we all know a proper bionicle movie would have been something along the lines of star wars/lotr/matrix. rahkshi were good though.
2004:the pleb filter, at least lore-wise. metru nui was probably the most distinctive setting of the entire line. the metru were the last sets to have the aesthetic distinctiveness of 2001-2 (although i guess you could make a case for 06). the rest of the sets weren't quite up to par.
2005:a bit underrated. i liked that they tried to adhere to the in-setting visual rules they had in place when they tried to make the hordika look "bestial". it didn't quite convey what they meant it to, but it had more integrity to it than the cartoonish head and mask pieces that villains had for the rest of the line.

2006:still the last big marketing push bionicle ever got. a plethora of games that didn't bother to follow the "canon" lore, but sadly none of them had a very interesting alternate take on bionicle. the vaccum left by bob (presumably) led to all "canon" story media going through greg, who gregged all over everything. the piraka kicking the toa nuva's shit in and zaktan and terry's edgy scheming was hype as fuck when i was a kid, but it doesn't really do anything for me now, whereas the mnog is still fucking brilliant.
2007:overrated, honestly. the luster of faber's (still) brilliant settings was diluted by the gloomy faux-fps vibe being pushed. unique canister builds don't count for quite that much when the building system is locked into such a specific aesthetic and relies so much on fiddly bits like tubes and spines to give the bulids "character". and then of course there's the lime joints.
2008:the most unique setting in the franchise, so it was a shame that this year was the least focused on atmosphere and exploration. the ending was brilliant, but it was sort of a holdover from 2001. sets were uninspiring aside from the vehicles.
2009:it's extremely obvious in hindsight how they never actually planned where the robot came from. the setting/characters would have worked great in a game like the mnog, but instead the year's media was based around that godawful movie. if that was what the flagship media and default tone would have been like from that point on, then good riddance.
2010:i'm honestly still a bit surprised we got anything at all. usually lego's policy with these lore themes was to give us some sort of snarmy cack like "The ending is up to your imagination!". still probably the worst year, but making everything at the ending incomprehensively massive was at least a safe way of making it feel appropriately "final".

This is why I'd rank that year low on my own list, apart from the numerous meh sets and increasingly dumb serials. Tone and exploration were major draws for me in the whole franchise, but Karda Nui was just a generic swamp and bland skies with grey rocks and a big metal ball we barely got to see. I know there really wasn't a whole lot to explore beyond the Cordex, especially since most of it got blown up in the end anyway, but that's exactly why it would have been cool to see the Codrex in more detail. Even something as simple as a minimalist point-and-click explorer section on the website, similar to the 01 or 04 mini CDs, would have added a lot of immersion and memorability to the setting.

It was the shit joints, as a kid who had very little access to story content, the toys were the main driving force behind my interest, and after getting a few 08 sets I just couldnt get exited for the sets anymore, as there was an ever present chance one of the joints would snap in a way that left it unusable, at least in relative terms

2005 was pretty bad too, probably the second worst. At least from a story standpoint, with a plot that was pure filler that could have been wrapped up the previous year and a contrived as fuck betrayal arc. The sets had a cool gimmick but were otherwise ugly and mismatched.

Theoretical-speculation time, anons.

Let's say that Lego develops on the Mixels system to allow an extreme amount of compatibility with Technic parts, allowing you to create robotic Technic&Mixel-joint figures, anywhere from a little larger than a minifig, to as huge as Metalbeard.
Now lets say that Lego wanted to reboot Bionicle again, or do a brand-new theme that draws inspiration from Bionicle. The main bulk of the sets will be playsets using these Technic-Mixels figures along with actually story-relevant locations and events, usually allowing for multiple characters (including more obscure side-characters and creature swarms) per set. Meanwhile regular Constraction figures of the main characters and villains will continue to be pumped out, with it using a system more compatible with Technic and perhaps even System parts - however the Technic-Mixels sets will be the focus of the series, perhaps even with CMF or Kanohi pack-style blindbags of random parts for characters.

Would you be interested in such a line, or would you consider it heresy?

I actually like 2009 for going back to the tribal setting of the early days, which has always been my favourite aspect of Bionicle. In fact I actually prefer it over any year since 2004, with the possible exception being 2006 because the Piraka were cool.

I'll adjust the legs a bit tonight and try to blend them into the body frame a bit better I think, but still aim for that level of thickness regardless.
Shoulders should match up well once I add in arms, they'll give a bit more width up top to balance her out.
After that, I just need to figure out what I'll do for a head.

Fuck uploaded the pic by accident. But since I'm at it it's worth noting that the "wrong" minifigs that don't seem to portray any specific character (yellow Nuparu and blue Mantax) don't appear in Toa Terrain Crawler, which is the "big showdown" that includes all Toa and Barraki (like Piraka Stronghold). They appear only in Toa Undersea Attack, a "side event". It's as if they knew the characters but still wanted to slip two OCs in.

I grew up with bionicle, my first ever "set" was a 2001 jaller mctoran that i got when it came out and still have, and my dad tried to buy my love as a kid after my parents divorce by getting me almost every set to come out afterwards. I liked the Nuva generally (Tahu is probably my favorite) but I think they fucked up with Onua.
I like the set itself, but not as a version of Onua. Onua Mata looked dextrous and skeletal and I don't think that was carried over at all.

I loved how alien and almost creepy the Mata looked and never truly liked that the Nuva made them more "human". Yeah I get the designer intent was to make them more "modern", beefier and more powerful looking, but they lost major uniqueness points when they got rid of stuff like Onua's claws and Gali's hookhands (which I realize aren't technically her true hands in canon but fuck that). That bothered me almost as much as the weird masks.

I agree with this. The 2008 Kanohi (including the Matoran) are all very cool designs to me if I ignore the characters behind them. Well, I appreciate the "orange duo" a bit less but that's subjective.

I've never liked the Kanohi Nuva. Even in 2002 I liked the sets *despite* the masks, like a sort of necessary evil. The veiny, fleshy visual design felt like a betrayal of the clean 2001 designs that had meant so much for the line (and would have afterwards). And half of them had these awkward looking horn crowns for some reason. The other half.. No clue.. I've never really understood exactly what they were aiming for.

Not a fan of the Nuva designs. The sounded clean looking legs and armor pieces take away from the aesthetic, almost everyone has some type of swords now and most of the masks are just terrible.

I'm going to write it very plainly so that you understand: I was complaining about their choices of name alterations, not that they changed the names in the first place. What I said in my original post was the following, but written at a younger reading level for you:
"The team who decided to change the names of the characters changed the names this way: They changed "Jala" to "Jaller", "Maku" to "Macku", and "Huki" to "Hewkii". They said they were going to change the spelling without changing the way it is pronounced, but these spelling changes do actually change the way you say it. Were they illiterate?"
You replied:
"They changed them because of maori legal troubles."
Do you see the problem with your reply? It's what's called a non-sequitor; it doesn't have any relation to what was previously said. Ergo, I replied with "Are you illiterate, too?" because you clearly could not read what I said.

for the sake of everyone you live and work with (or I guess go to school with, because apparently you need better education) I hope you start paying more attention and get a better grasp of English before mouthing off like that again.

You're right, but not even lying, I had to look it up the other day and thought it was spelled with the o.

While it would be slightly less detailed than standard constraction, imagine how much easier and cheaper this kind of idea would make, just, creating your own characters. It'd be perfect - you'd still have a wide array of customization, as Lego would naturally be producing more and more parts for such a line of figures, they'd be available in more colors, and they'd be able to keep using the same molds for a long time (instead of needing to create new standards for constraction every couple of years). Not to mention that they'd scale well with most existing System mocs and minifigs. Also considering that I've personally always preferred the smaller figures as opposed to the giant action figures Constraction is like today (I like big figures, but not when every one is so huge)... I just want it so badly.

It never even occured to me to pronounce the new names any different from the old ones in my head, so I'd never have figured out what you were getting at just from reading the original post. I actually assumed what you were complaining about was the pronounciation staying the same and naming day therefore being pretty pointless, or something like that.
Also, if your first language is German the names do sound fairly identical, as long as you randomly decide to pronounce "hew" the English way.

The abundance of dual swords is one of my other issues with the Nuva.
I think Tahu's swords are fine but I would have rather Lewa and Kopaka had two different weapon pieces, maybe Lewa could have had an upgraded axe and an offhand spear that combined into a halberd or something.
I miss Onua's claws too.
