I got my Mint and Sakura boxes for them from Ami-Ami finally. I really wonder why they didn't ship with boxes. The boxes aren't scented like the Dios are. These are my only two Beast Boxes, are all the boxes done this way? It came with a little plastic card to bend in half, put in the back that would make the beast spring out on it's cart down the ramp.

Nice I was waiting for the new thread so I could post my new fren, Delta.
I was unsure of him at first but after posing it around a bit and getting the hang of its transformation I love him and he is probably my favourite BeastBox so far.
Thanks to the anon who recommended him. My next one will be Tridant and it's in this months amiami order.

I didn't know the Sakura and Mint DIOs were scented. Neat.
I do wish they came with boxs too but luckily they get restocked pretty often anyway.

Sakura had a 'clean cloths' smell, like fabric softener out of the dryer kind of smell, still has a scent after 5 months.

I THINK Mint was supposed to be scented but I smelled nothing when I got her. Maybe the heat killed it. I could be wrong..

A little bit done, I'll do another drop in the slots tomorrow when I'm working on the BOX part. I felt them with my thumb and honestly thought they were both convex but BOX isn't. I'll post some pics tomorrow with finished stuff.

I don't normally back projects but I'd totally back that (as long as it can be shipped here).
How big do you reckon it would be? Going off of the scale of the JoJo in the cockpit it would at least 12 inches tall.

I don't know why that would bother you. Even if they did different types of bears in different colorways it mainly just works as bamboo because of the clear green. For other bears it would just be cannons.

As expected, the transformations for these guys are simplistic as fuck. It's fine though, they look amazing.

I honestly didn't think I'd be into a spider, I usually don't find spider toys interesting and am terribly afraid of them in real life. All the little details--the clear orange, the tank, the holographic stickers, the web to hang off...it's a compelling little toy.

You seem to be mistaken/uninformed. I middleman a lot of shit from China and you can definitely choose carriers that charge by weight alone. So if it's a big hollow cube, shipping won't be too bad at all.

This. Imagine a hangar bay like people use for Gundams, but the wall is built to hold Beastbox storage containers. You could have little fold out ramps and shit for them to move around on too, it'd be fun.

Really? They've always looked very solid to me. And having a bunch in-hand, I can tell you that they feel durable as fuck and the plastic is great quality. to be honest, I was a bit surprised when I first got DIO in hand, because he didn't feel quite like I imagined. I think it's less the plastic quality and more him being relatively hollow.
That said it hasn't stopped me from buying the line, though I feel they could be a little bit cheaper.
But if they look interesting to you I'd say just buy one and test it for yourself, they're really fun desk toys.

frankly speaking the plastic is cheaper than i'd like for the grey parts. they have that swirly pattern i'm really not fond of. the articulation is good enough but a bit lacking, however the design of the toy itself is fun. you are paying more becuase its an indie company, and the product itself is durable and well designed but yes, the plastic won't compare to higher end import toys. i bought the shinobi to try out, happy enough with what it is but it didnt get me needing all the others. jump in if there's any you're curious for.

BB-11 Trident the Lobster

What we can currently be more or less surely expect in the foreseeable future (with prototypes already presented) is: a Crab, a Feline, a Crocodile, a Sauropod, a Shark and two actual robots (one smaller and the other larger).

MegaBox, the "licensed designs" line, currently consists of the following:
MB-01 Alien the Xenomorph
MB-03 Mozi the Blue Dude (from a Chinese MOBA)
MB-04 Luban No. 7 the Yellow Kid (same MOBA)
MB-05 Shin Getter Robo the Red
MB-06 Black Getter the Redeco
MB-07 Iron Man the Mark 50

It will also be expanded to include: a Thanos, a Hulk, a Hulkbuster, a Power Loader, an Alien Queen and a Predator.

1. Did I miss anything?
2. Does anyone have any idea about MB-02? I seemingly can't find a single mention of it anywhere.

I remembered seeing several recolors as well, and in my search for the pics I acidentally stumbled upon the answer to my original question.
Looks like that one time when the Mouse purchased the Fox messed the licensing situation up somewhat, and a bunch of model numbers got shuffled around as a result.

Yeah, I mainly cared about the numbered designations which signify the molds; recolors are too numerous (and some are too obscure) for me personally to try and catalogue. The color schemes are added as suffixes to the main template anyway: e.g. the HellDiver Dio is BB-01HD, the SpaceAnthem is BB-10SA, the Search and Rescue Delta is BB-05SR, and so on.

Only part of the turret I dislike is how the orange doesn't match the rest of the orange. If they made it translucent I'd be all for it, but otherwise it's a solid addition to the Dio/Ghostdog line.

No power loaders have come out yet. Like an anon earlier in the thread figured out, it was supposed to be the second Mega Box release, right after the Alien, but it's likely the licensing got all screwy when Disney bought Fox so it got shelved for a while.

Umm, okay. It does sound like you got a defective one, but I also think it's possible that your standards are ridiculously high. I've always felt Beastbox plastic to be quite nice, and in my lifetime I've collected toys from literally hundreds of lines from both the US and Japan so I feel I've experienced a pretty good spread. I've also never really heard anyone say Beastbox plastic was poor quality until you.

¥3000 with a variance of about ¥300 yen between stores. Not super common in Japanese stores however.
You might need to check out Yodabashi camera in Osaka. I didn't have much luck finding them elsewhere there.
The main place for them was the AmiAmi physical store in Akihabara, Tokyo.

If I'm being completely honest, the articulation looks a tad on the basic side, and something here just screams "budget looking" to me for some reason. I have a lot of faith in 52Toys though, so I will reserve judgement until actual release.

I expect there is some gimmick here, with limb and/or head swapping, due to the headless body on the table with all the limbs removed. I also don't recognize the Beastbox it's sitting on, which makes me wonder if that is a part of this line. Imagine it coming with a Beastbox which breaks down into armored limbs and head which you can then swap on.

Not sure if trolling or not. I love NECA and all, I think they do amazing work for their pricepoint, but joint breakages and warped parts are relatively common so I'm not sure the plastic quality is something to be praised.

I personally find Beastbox's plastic to be fantastic quality, weighty and solid and holds crisp detail well.

I had a moment of realization when looking at this photo. I realized that somehow, Beastbox had gone from "that thing I occasionally pick up alongside the other more important lines I collect" to "my number one priority." I'll go over some of what it has going for it. The Panda figure itself is pretty fantastic and has a lot of expression through its arms, legs and head even if its torso is a brick. He comes with a baby panda/drone that has some articulation as well. The little fella can even pilot the Panda from inside like a mech. The bamboo cannon has a ton of configurations from just being a stick of bamboo, to dual cannons, to a mega cannon, to a staff weapon. Panda can also stand on hind legs, go down into a very convincing sloped 4-legged position like actual pandas, and the transformation is solid. Just all around fantastic and has a ton of playability to it.

This is what happens when you change the scale of the line, and try to standardize the packaging as well. The old Dio packaging was incredibly compact, being only slightly bigger than the toy itself.

Always hard to tell what will come out or when. Thats part of whats exciting about the line in some ways. We still never got that Hippo Ambulance, but for all we know it could drop tomorrow. Penguins seemed really popular but never got a new colorway. Aliens have been showing off tons of fun colors like the red, pink and power loader yellow, but never dropped. The shrimp have like 3 colorways but are all basically red. Its hilarious and trying to predict anything is a fool's game with Beast Box.

Do you use Taobao for your Beast Boxes? "MFT 人仔" gets you results for packs of 4 in assorted colors. Consolidate them with something larger cuz they are like just a few grams.

There's also official TakaraTomy Dia-nauts sets: DA-18 and DA-04 but they are about 2x~3x the price per person. They also have DA-41 which uses the female molds that MFT hasn't KOed yet.

The spider is pretty good. I wish the palps and middle pair of legs had swivels too, but he still does really well without them. Neither of the two decos are really doing it for me color wise, though.

Yeah, I still have no idea what the idea was there. I like the red and gold the main release has going on, but translucent blue like that custom somebody posted earlier would have been killer.

Level of articulation varies depending on the mold, but I would generally say "articulated enough." I generally feel like they have just about the right amount--enough to do some cute poses and fiddling around, but not so much it becomes a complex, floppy mess (like some Transformers).

I think the best articulated ones are probably the shrimp, the spider, and the birds. The shrimp and spider are kind of no-brainers, cause there are segments and multiple legs and stuff, but the bird is really something special, with a really well done and expressive articulation layout.

No storyline to speak of. And I get it, I was once where you were. I would say just force yourself to try one of the more highly recommended ones, and see if you like it or not. Then you'll know for sure whether to drop it or buy more. Plus, it's pretty easy to resell these guys if you don't like it.

There isn't a storyline exactly, just some tongue-in-cheek write ups on their little collector cards. You can infer some things though, like that they must be big enough in their own world that they could fulfill the jobs they are painted for. Doesn't make a lot of sense to have an ambulance hippo that can't carry anyone. Each figure has so much personality pouring out of it that I've never really been bothered by the thin worldbuilding.
