If you make a product people like as an independent business owner with a small production capacity, and companies with huge capacity are allowed to simply copy your work and sell it widely, there's no way for you to ever make money from that, and you'll never be able to achieve their level of production because they already have the money and the manufacturing equipment.
It basically means the existing major players would be allowed to profit off other people's creative works and anyone who isn't a major player can never move up.
