Update on this. The hot water fixed the tight joints and I had to drill out every hand, but it works now. Every handhole was the same size which makes no sense considering it was all wrong. Besides those issues both figures are no different in feel than a real Figuarts.

Put a tiny tiny tiny bit of shock oil on the end of a toothpick or needle or whatever. Drop it in there. Wiggle it a little. Enjoy.

You can try a blowdrier on it or some hot water.
With a blowdrier, make sure to keep moving, do it for like 15 seconds. Don't keep it still, that'll cause trouble.
It'll make the plastic more flexible and easier to work with while lessening the chances of causing stuff to break.

You'll probably need only the tiniest bit put on the tip of a toothpick and smeared/dripped/whatever into the joint. Shock oil is something no /toy/ goer should ever be without.

I still really like the old SS hair sculpt for Goku. I like how it looks fluffy like it did in the manga. I bought a custom SS2 head and now I'm set on Goku's forms. The way I have my display set up means I usually leave the SS head on Awakening Goku anyway, but I still have enough Goku bodies to swap heads around. With Bandai's UI and DF's blue shirt Goku I'll have more Goku bodies to work with.

Here's the best I can do atm. I'm not at home and I picked up SROE and the head while staying in my temp place. I think the hair could be sharper, but overall I'm satisfied with it, especially since I'm not a huge fan of SS2 but I still need the head for an all transformations set up. What I plan on doing is using the faceplates from the 1.0 SS Goku, since the paint on those is sharper and thinner. I got it from ebay for about $20.

It sure is, but Piccolo Daimaoh had ridiculously broad shoulders and it's weird that Bandai went for more normal proportions insted of being accurate to how the character always looked. I really like how huge and powerful those proportions made him look.

I store all the parts in tackle boxes and then store the boxes themselves in a closet in my toy room/home office. For long term storage boxes go to my storage container in my garage. I keep the boxes for moves and in case I want to sell something. Only imports though.

The aura is such a notable part of the Ultra Instinct form that I felt it would be worth it to hike the price up a bit just so he could include it.
Could have been sculpted or even just an acrylic piece with the UI aura printed on there.

Don't get your hopes up. The only figures who have been cheap recently are the Base Goku and Blue Goku. Since this is a new sculpt I could see them keeping it this high with just Blanco and an effects piece. I do hope we get Omen at least though.

I guess the kamehameha is UI's equivalent. SS3 came with a stand because he has no hope of standing up on his own.

I've pointed this out in the past, but don't forget that UI Goku is an entirely new sculpt too, and I'm sure they probably won't use it again like they were able to with SSG/SS3/SroE/SSB since it was a way more standard body.

UI is a new body and will probably be one-use like Awakening Goku.

Also, Jiren is also a whole new one-time sculpt, with two effects parts, several hands, including a special one to hold Goku by the hair and multiple faces. He's also bigger and chunkier than UI Goku and comes with several faces at the same price point as UI Goku.
Not saying UI Goku WILL come with more, just saying.

Far as I know, SSG, SRoE and Broly movie Goku so far all are fairly interchangeable.
Awakening isn't, though, so it can go either way. Some compatibility would be nice.

for example, lets say they pick saiyan raised on earth goku. with him as a base they then make EVERYTHING in his colors so nothing clashes. heads, torsos, legs, belts. just every little bit so instead of full figures they just sell kits for certain looks or individual pieces that will definitely match the clothes and skin colors.

Not sure about a list, but from my experience any figure that comes with an effect beam/piece will come with one. Some examples I can remember are:

I would assume so. Not only has Bandai done the big guys, they actively seem to be putting out larger guys as of late. Both movie Brolys, Piccolo Daimao, Super Buu, Jiren, Ginyu. And although it isn't to scale, he's still huge, Oozaru Vegeta.
You would almost think they enjoy making the big guys.

And better to use these $20 throw away figures as placeholders than spend like $70 on literal bootleg placeholders only replace them the real versions later like people are doing with the DFs

They held off on doing proper large figures outside of the original Broly until like the last two years or so. They've definitely knocked it out of the park on all the big figures they've been doing.

I'm just hoping they don't cut corners if they're worried people might not buy them, since they're basically just B-list villains. And they would need to be bigger than everyone on that list, save for maybe FP Broly. Though, I'm kind of glad they ended up waiting for them, because Armored Broly had a really good design for his armor, and it looks like Oozaru is using the same design. Though, Ginyu looks like he may be back to the same shoulder pad issue/design as Nappa and Scouter Vegeta.

The green piece on the chest is static unlike the purple piece on Frieza's chest. That's all good and well, considering the upper chest has minimal movement and most of it is in the waist, but chances are that it'll be difficult to even use the waist joint without accidentally also using the chest one at least once.
Doing that will scuff not the paint but the matte finish on that particular area. It's well documented so far.
If that kind of stuff doesn't bother you, you should be fine. It's not that big a deal, it just means you'll have small dots of glossy dark grey plastic on an otherwise matte surface.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm usually pretty anal about paint defects but on the other hand my Frieza has a paint blemish just in the middle of his purple chest part and it doesn't bother me anymore for some reason. I'll try to be careful with Broly's torso to minimize it nonetheless.

There are more than 20 modern seasons now, not to mention the 70s and 80s seasons. Each modern season usually has multiple Riders, and all the main ones (and some of the secondaries) have multiple forms.

Not every form of every Rider gets an SHF, but the past few seasons have apparently sold well enough that they're still releasing more of those while yet another season just started. Plus there's the 2.0s (Shinkocchou Seihou) that also sell very well because the characters are still popular and the pre-Gaim 1.0s are very outdated now.
