Yeah, its about what I expected. Not too impressive but not bad at all. Good Scale, Articulation and joints are probably just fine. Healthy amount of accessories, but the paint is sloppy, sculpt is lacking and expressions just cant compete with SHF. eh. oh well.

I'm fairly sure he'll be matte. Far as I know, most of the recent releases have been.
Shading will probably be minimal, though FP Broly's only shading was on the bare body, so maybe we'll luck out with Goku being the same way.

For anyone who has bootleg/recolored bootleg Tamashii Effects pieces..
Are they roughly equal enough in quality to the real thing to be worth it? I know the plastic is generally more brittle, less flexible and it smells more, but is it otherwise similar enough?
There's some effects I want to get, but I don't want to pay aftermarket prices for the official product. Burning Flame, which I want to add to Jiren, is like 70 dollars.

I have a bunch of bootleg burning flame effects and they're all great. I don't notice any less flexibility in mine, but it's possible you'll get that since bootlegs vary in quality. I plan on getting more sometime next year once I move and set up my collection again. Here's a pic of the purple one I picked up a while ago.

Shit, I want some effects for Broly. Sadly, even the Chinese haven't taken the time to make a yellow and green version of the aura effects.
And yeah, a whole dedicated line to it would be great, with some more generic effects and some more specialized ones, like Kamehameha, some of Gogeta's abilities, etcetera. Can also span different series, of course.

For the time being, I hope Can of Beams actually considers making an Ultra Instinct Goku Aura Effect.
The thing he did with the Goku Black energy blade would probably work really great for that.

So, there's a few options.

One, I do it that way. Backside looks eeeeeeeh but the front looks crazy.

Two, I do it a different way with a bunch of meticulous painting and masking. Would probably look neat, still be transparent, but also less bright because transparency kills vibrancy.

Three, Do the first method, but transparent. So lots of detail, but way way way less vibrant.

But you're a busy guy, so go with whichever method(s) you wish to experiment with. I'm sure it'll come out good regardless.
If you do go with two or more ways of producing it(like you did with the energy blades) it would be interesting to see, and I'm sure there'd be no shortage of opinions on which one looks best.

Mainly gets terrible when ordering multiple figs, as they artificially increase the weight per figure.

Was forced to ship 3 SAS figs through Boat because else it'd be 5k+ yen, instead of the 2~3kish SAL other stores would do.
Then again, the Pillar Men were several k cheaper than other stores, so it evens out a bit.
Just sucks having to wait 3 months for my aztec fitness gods.

Got Goku in though.

The hair sculpt seems to just be Goku's base hair spiked up. It doesn't jumble together in the middle like SS, which means if you looked at it from the back there would be a gap.

So Piccolo 2.0 should come up to KP's chin and this would be pretty accurate for the rest of the line. Goku's lower tuft of hair comes up to Piccolo's chin in the anime.

With them focusing on Saiyan Saga/Namek, I'm hoping we also get Piccolo 2.0 and even a Krillin 2.0. That said, we desperately need a Cell Saga revisit, since they need to get 17 and 18 back out there, and we NEED a Cell 2.0 now that they're killing it on the bigger figures.

No one really needs to stress over releases- but sometimes the thrill of getting something before orders close is fun. This time around, there wasn't really a rush- most could waddle in and casually snag it. On multiple sites, even.

Looks like the SSB Goku and the MUI Goku don't have the same skin tones.
Could be that the lighting is different, but the paint/plastic is probably the differing factor here.
Quite a shame. If true, it means it's probably gonna be a little jarring to put non MUI heads on the MUI body and the MUI head on non MUI bodies.

Which I'm sure they can do considering I'm pretty sure many of their figures at least start out as digital sculpts.
At the very least, I expect them to make use of the arm and feet sculpt.
Torso and legs are a different situation, considering Piccolo wears a different outfit from King Piccolo. More Goku-like baggy pants and upper body

Somebody was adamant that they were totally different sculpts because of the proportions.
But if the sculpt is digital, you can change those up. It's mainly textures that allow you to tell if it's a different sculpt.

Also not sure how useful it may be for most, but I made the checkboxes transparent for this png, so that anybody that uses editing software that accepts alpha channels just put the color layers underneath the chart one.
Might be a bit quicker and easier to fill up that way.

My theory is that DF made the neck hole way too small like they did with Gogeta, or like CE did with 17's hands. I doubt the joint is actually weak, but I can see it being way too tight. Which means you have to submerge it in hot water before you do anything. Probably a precaution on the hands too.
It's not unfixable, but it is shitty.
