If we used this as a reference, and very generously assumed Hot Rod and Chromedome are the same height, then an accuratley sized FT Fortress would have to be 3.5 times bigger. We’d be looking at a 12-13’ toy, aka too big to stand straight up in most people’s homes.

So basically, scalefags only hope is if the MFT toy is as tall as Hoodlum’s shins.

If I had to pick just one, it might have to be the Aero Asterix version. It’s really impressive just how much retooling went into him since he’s a convention exclusive. I honestly believe he was supposed to be a regular release, but MMC had some trouble convincing a factory of a full retail run for some moronic reason. Makes me wonder for the future of the Reformatted line.

My headcanon is a multihybrid:

STAGE 1 - Big Autobot, not huge, transforms into a bigass ATP.
STAGE 2 - Goes to Nebulos, has head exchanged for transforming humanoid
STAGE 3 - Size massively increased, Cerebros added as intermediary stage; alt mode acts as base for human-sized Headmasters
STAGE 4 - Humanoid headmaster expires, body altered to act as new intermediary stage for new, gigantic body; alt mode now fit to serve as base for Transformers

Actually wanting city bots in scale is such a baffling concept to me. I can get wanting set-pieces and replicas of parts, but when you break the 2 ft mark , thats where I draw the line. I feel like the MP scale is just too big as is, though, I'm still apprehensive about the FansToys combiners because I just don't think they'll be fun to handle. Coming from the world of Japanese mecha toys back to transformers is a shellshock.

God I know right? I find in scale citybots dumb for chug or mp since they'd need to be impossibly big but for legends? This shit is perfect and probably the only time there will ever be a in scale city bot.
If I had a legends collection (and boy sometimes I am tempted to to start) this would be the holy grail.
You could set up a huge diorama in a room and it would look so cool.

There was a Prime Optimus that looked pretty good, and here's they're Megatron they teased but I'm not sure if it's still happening. I think they had originally wanted to do Soundwave if these first two sold well but I haven't heard any more.

Is it possible to get the dry transfer stickers for Grant separately? I like the paint apps especially on the head for the standard release, but Grant otherwise looks way better in terms of colours and with those dry transfers applied.

Don't think so, maybe if someone was selling it second hand but chances are low.

The headmaster/headsculpt was the weakest thing for me.

A pretty solid figure that has some small aesthetic issues, imo(the face is good but not quite MP quality, they messed up how the eyes should look)and a few engineering quibbles(some clearances aren't quite as good as they should be and there's paint scraping because they loaded it up with paint), but otherwise a very impressive looking figure. I've had it for a week and everyone who comes over immediately comments on it.

The paint scraping is largely why I unboxed mine and have been a little afraid to transform it. Getting the dragon head and tail attached were both fucking terrifying because of how tight those connections were. Thankfully, the tail never needs to come off but I doubt I will ever utilize the big fist. That dragon head is on and it's going to stay on.

Otherwise, I only really have one major complaint with clearance and that's with trying to position his head. I wish those collar spikes were on ball joints so they could be moved out of the way and allow the head to turn more. Kind of a major oversight on what aims to be an MP quality figure.

My only other big complaint is I wish they could have engineered his normal arm better to have a proper elbow. Everything else looks so goddamn good damn near to the point of feeling like he stepped out of the TV and onto my shelf but then I notice that cheap lazy looking elbow joint and it kinda ruins it. I'm still very happy with it and it's probably the best T2 Megs we're ever going to get but it's because it came so close to perfection right out the gate that it makes it that much more disappointing.

First of all, that looks like a G1esque Bulkhead, so muted green would make the most since for his colors. I just noticed his feet are flipped backwards...
I realize that you technically can do that but those itty bitty feet make no sense on a character like Bulkhead. The big booties that Titanika uses for the feet make more sense for him than they do for heel spurs. Then again, that ends up putting his wheels on his shins which also seems a bit off, though it's probably better than tiny feet.

The feet don't really bother me too much and I also don't display stuff in their alt modes much anyway unless it's a beast.
I also want it voyager size since I don't really collect MPs outside of my faviurite characters.

I do want the desert colour Bulldog, but I don't want to pay more to potentially get something I don't want (though I guess I could sell it, but I'd much rather just buy directly what I want). Well NA is taking the page from the Iron Factory playbook in regards to extra hands, so they're getting that advantage there. And I can tell that the alt mode shot is in some kind of prototype phase, but I think MS is pulling it off better with the painted cockpit over the choice of clear plastic on NA.

The Jinbao one? I have the G2 one with the addon set. One of the best toy purchases I've ever made, its combined mode is enormous and stable, and the individual bot and alt modes are excellent. The plastic feels great too. I think one of the best things is Generation Toy really cares about making transformations fun, as opposed to absurd fiddly messes like recent MPs.

Isn't her bulbous crotch also diecast? This is why mixing all these materials is more often then not a bad thing. The titties look like a weird vest thing just so you can squish them for a year or two before they leak plasticizer and the crotch impedes forward leg motion and juts out like a bulge because "muh heft." even though putting that weight will cause her to lean forward, compromising posing potential on a figure with already small feet.

This figure just gets worse and worse with each reveal.

What's so special about Fanstoys packaging?

Also, I used to keep everything "in case of a move," but lately I've been thinking to just keep stuff that looks like the designer really tried hard to make something fun or weird or silly. Something that shows a spark of creativity in the packaging design.

Like you I've gone all in so far on XTB. But I also dabbled into DX9 and FT. While I only handled DX9 breakdown he's not worth the $99 asking price. He feels like an OS chug figure and not a masterpiece.

FT I have both MM and breakdown and their fantastic. MM was a return to form for them after a series of lackluster releases. That led me to get breakdown and he was the same top notch quality. Both him and MM look and feel like MP. The only real downside to them is their height.

Which brings me to answer your question. If you wanted a set of stunticons that fit into takaras scale then it might be best to stay the course with XTB. If you want the best rep of the team I think FT is going to be the way to go. I like XTB scale (though FT dose grow on you and totally dosen't matter combined of if there on their on shelf) but them dicking around with gravestone and milking the limb bot molds with repaints and retools as left a bad taste in my mouth.
