Are there toys that have joints hidden under the skin? Or maybe using wires of some sort?
How do you call them?
Basically I want something that looks like statue, but actually is articulated like action figure.

They're usually just called seamless bodies.

They are not a good idea because the skin must be made of silicone/rubber and it will crack, rot, or tear over time, no matter how gently you handle it. Often, the internal skeleton or wires puncture through the soft skin. It's inevitable. No toy company in history has ever solved this yet.

If you don't know, here's the thing, Phicen always changes the proportions of the female Phicen every year and model of that year, but their Phicen female is always too damn long legged.

Also, it is only the PL 2019, which is this year's version is when Phicen releases a real big titted female. all the other Phicen would be an equivalent of C, but the PL 2019-134, is the first time they have a female Phicen with tits as big as D. Unfortunately, they still haven't been selling the base body for the big breasted female Phicen.

Unfortunately, some third parties that use recasted head from 1/6 statues to sell for Phicen are really expensive, but they fit the Phicen body really well.

some toy stores like BigBadToyStore sell clothing sets. Though you may have to pay for the huge markup.

I don't know about the 1/6 Phicens, but the 1/12 are made of TPE. I asked around on sex doll forums and apparently regular baby powdering and oiling will keep the body fresh and prevent tears. Wish I had known that before she got holes in her elbows. Nothing photoshop can't cover up, and they close when the arm is unbent, but it's still mildly annoying.

I don't think it is so much people are 'afraid' of them but would like to have the perfect looking seamless figure. I am sure that if there was an actual viable option then most folk would prefer that over conventional joints. We would still argue which joints are best or worst as always, but now without them being visible the looks they have is a nonissue so everyione would only complain about range of motion clicking, etc.

I'm sure I would likely prefer seamless but I never really think about it since I know it just ISNT a viable option for long term collections. So I am fine with joints since to me there is no other frame of reference.
