The post office is great 99% of the time, slightly less so the remaining 1%. If you're smart enough to buy a cheap digital postal/shipping scale and print at home so you can just drop shit off instead of waiting in line behind grandma, it's even better.

When I go there, it's usually positive. I do see people trying to argue with the employees about getting their passports there, even if the post office closes in an hour. It's weird, lots of new foreigners in my town (that's a whole other can of worms there). They usually deliver my package, but if its overseas then there's a 1/3 chance they won't let me know when it arrives in town. I have to keep a close eye on the tracking number.

Get packages with MY signature FORGED by the driver (FedEx is the WORST about this!)
Go to PO to pick up package day after slip left, trashy bitch lies and tells me it's back out again for delivery (not according to tracking, Laquesha!) bitch REFUSES to go in the back to look. Every. Fucking. Time.

However my point is she could've simply just said to me "The labels are mixed up, let's switch'em. This goes here, the other here", but instead she took the time to lecture, talking down to me like I was a child in such a deadpan tone assuming this was my first rodeo for such a simple mistake. She's infamous doing this to customers btw, braindead or otherwise.
I don't doubt she's dealt with plenty of people with behavior and below average intelligence, boring work, etc. to be snippy with people, but you have to admit it feels embarrassing, uncomfortable, even insulting for an adult to talk down to another adult in front of other people like you were born yesterday.

Postmen leave packages or pink slips at my door without ringing all the time, but the only package I've ever had stolen was a bed frame. I hate going to my USPS in general because it's in downtown, and there's no parking. Picking up a package takes forever because there's only one person at the window.

Your local post office is a shit because of the 2006 Congressional law, the 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act, that forces the post office to devote 90% of its operating budget to a phantom retirement plan which causes it to lose more than a billion dollars every year, and the USPS is the only company that's ever been the focus of a law like this.

Reminder that FedEx and DHL were responsible for this law because they aim to drive the post office out of business so they can take over and charge higher prices for worse service.

If anyone was curious why the USPS has declined so much in the past 12 years, this is why.

No packages have arrived broken, nothing has been stolen, and aside from a couple of times a company has tried to deliver to home and i wasnt there, and i then had to go hunt down my package from the sorting facilities, everything has gone quite smoothly.

My issue isn't so much with USPS as a whole, so much as the lazy individuals you sometimes run across. Some carriers will go above and beyond to get you your package, others don't even make an attempt to try and deliver. I pay to have an item shipped to my door, not to have the item get ten feet away from my door, and then have you not even walk up to it and just drive off, so now I have to chase my item to the post office and pick it up myself.

Some people get upset when you to go the PO and there's only one person working the counter, and like, 15 people in line, and the person in front wants to ship a 50 pound box halfway across the world and they're arguing about the price of doing so holding everyone else up. But staffing issues feel like they happen anywhere and everywhere you go; the Post Office, the Bank, the Grocery Store, there always feels like theres long lines when there doesn't need to be.

Had a couple packages stolen that way. However my current postman is awesome. I have a mail slot in my current home so he has to go door to door. Whenever he leaves a package he rings the bell to let me know there's a box outside. And if he doesn't think I'm home, he sticks the box behind my recycling bin keeping it out of view. I had purchased the AY Magneto and neglected to pay attention to the tracking info after it shipped. He was hiding behind my bin for two days before I realized he was delivered. Found him safe and sound. Definitely would've been gone at my old place.

If they weigh less than a pound you can buy postage on Paypal that's meant for paper documents. I sent a figure to some guy in Denmark and a piece arrived broken, so I just sent a replacement part with document postage and it was only $3.

Just keep in mind that it's illegal, though.

If your shipping in the US USPS clicknship is awesome and works great. Pre print the label tape it to the box and drop it off. You can even have the Postal worker pick it up for you the next day.

The problem is overseas. USPS use to have first class mail with the click n ship system but last year dropped it. So now you have to do it the caveman way where you go to the PO fill out the customs forms and have them manually type all the info in. Shit takes forever and the line builds up behind you fast. What's worse is when you have 4 or 5 non US boxes and all need the same procedure.

If anyone sells stuff or does a lot of shipping you will know and feel the passive aggressive hate rays coming from the carrier and the ppl behind you in line after the second or third box.

Someone dropped it so hard it ripped the body from the base by snapping the bottom of the car in two, then it proceeded to fling around the box and smash everything else

Wont stop talking about her furrbabys and how she keeps getting passed on tender. she treats every guy that comes in like you just killed her dog. Oddly I told her to lighten up once and she flipped the fuck out came out into the parking lot and acted like she was going to try and fuck me up with her girl power or something. long story short I ended up taking her out that night and fucking the shit out of her. She ships my stuff for free now. Crazy fucking place the post office crazy.

I've never had issues with FedEx, UPS, or DHL. Only USPS, repeatedly. Maybe it'll change now that I moved to a different town but I hear one of the women at the post office is a bitter old boomer. Anyhow, DHL is favorite and the post office can eat a bag of dicks.
