Is it normal to lose interest in your favorite toys entirely, even if you end up coming back later?

A few years ago I was really into Lego, but completely lost interest. Then I got into action figures. Then I moved to model kits. Now I'm back into Lego. Is anyone else this schizo when it comes to toys?

don't worry, things like these happen.

I personally, for instance, got at one point interested in nendoroids, then lost interest, then regained interest some time later.

I did that when i first got into toys as an adult. Eventually found that transformers satisfied what i was looking for and that's what i focus on. Still get a model or Lego set every now and then but that's fairly random.

Just don't start spontaneously selling shit.
I sold some of my old toys and regretted it years later.
I ended up hunting them (copies not the same ones of course) on online auctions and what not to restore the collection.
Some are lost forever.

I've always had the same issue. About 8 years ago I fell into a deep depression because a lot of my friends and family died and my dad was dying of cancer. I became obsessed with Lego for 3 years. I think I was just trying to build a tiny, perfect world since mine felt like a nightmare. But eventually I hit a wall. I had a Bricklink account with over 50 wish-lists based on various projects I had going: just comfy scenery, robots, remote control stuff, dream minifigs, etc. It got to the point where I knew I'd never have enough money to purchase all the Lego to finish my projects. Worst of all I was out of physical surfaces in my room to display things. So there was no longer any reason to build. Legos can't go on the floor. Now I have a massive storage bin full of Lego that I never use. The last thing I did was use all of my white pieces and joints to make a nearly life-size replica of my cat who passed away. I keep thinking about selling them but I've been through this cycle before when I was a teenager. I know better now.

It's normal. I was completely into Star Wars figures but the sewer movies killed a lot of my interest. On a whim I grabbed a Mandalorian figure when it dropped and my obsession with not just the figures, but the franchise, came back full force. Of course now I'm playing catch up with past releases.
