>>7855673It's not just the shade, though, it's the opacity, or lack thereof. Hasbro occasionally uses white and gray plastic that is such a godawful weak mixture that it allows light to permeate beyond the surface, which is why it looks "milky" and all the sculpted details are washed out. Even in the pic you posted, the G1 toy has a much cleaner, more opaque white.
I'm not criticizing you and I'm not saying it's wrong for you to enjoy the figure in spite of that, but you asked why I think it looks awful and that bad plastic is one of the few things that would make me pass on even a toy that I like otherwise.
>>7855677Picture seems misleading. Cliff is quite a bit bigger and a lot more complex than Bee, and comes with that huge cannon hidden behind the box. And, like, even if he weren't, I wouldn't give a fuck, because Cliffy legit looks like one of the best retail Transformers to hit the shelves in recent years. Can't wait to get my hands on the mold, even for 20 smackers.
My big question is whether or not Cliffjumper has a cockpit for a titanmaster, since it certainly seems like he has room for one.
>>7855702How is that worse? The Mirage mold is actually pretty cool, and even if you don't care about it, there's a legitimate reason for the mold to be entirely transparent. It's the look they were going for; it serves a purpose for collectors and enthusiasts. Apeface just looks like a triple-dump with some garbage modes and the worst plastic known to man.
