>>7857915>If those stores were already selling that product, and selling so much of it that it was starting to gain teh same shelf space as STAR WARS at the time, why would they suddenly not want to carry that line and only want to carry the movie variant?Uh, even Star Wars had this problem though.
There's a reason why the articulated 3.75" line became a WalMart exclusive after the 6" Black series came out.
Stores know their numbers of how much shit sells and there was too much product for them to sell enoug for the articulated 3.75" line. So it became a WalMart exclusive, because they were the only store willing to order enough quantities from Hasbro.
See also the shittyass 5PoA line. Kids don't really care about features, just characters, right? No need to order the more expensive 3.75" line.
>>7857949You're a whole lotta wrong. GI Joe only had some waves get pushed to outlets thanks to the movies.
And that other guy is right, because of GI Joe's success, they made the Marvel line also be 3.75". And these lines were all popular, up until around 2012, where WalMart wanted ot change shit up because they wanted more profit per space taken up.
Contrary to what you believe, all retail stores care a shit ton about what they purchase. Sometimes they interfere with toy company's decisions like pressuring Hasbro to make a large more expensive GI Joe (Sigma 6 and the tinier 2.5 line for poorfags), but it's all in the name of money.
Hasbro making MLs 6" again and Star Wars figures 6" was another gamble due to retailers wanting more money and this time it worked.
And you're incredibly wrong about how successful the 4" lines were. They were pushing out a new wave every quarter and half wave/revisions sporadically ontop of that.
Go see the huge amount of toys Iron Man 2 got, which leaked into the MU line's budget getting expanded due to their success.
The current ML line doesn't even get this many new molds nor waves to coincide with the movies.
