But, I think that the main reason why I hate him because I was and still am greatly dissapointed of how he looks compared to the movie. I made the mistake that I saw the movie before the actuall sets. I was generaly dissapointed with all titans from 2005, but Keetongu was just too much to handle.

I get his point in some cases, but the only one i actually agree on is sidorak's head. I coud never really enjoy the way his eyes are handled on the set, and a bit more of a left arm on our yellow friend wouldn't have hurt either. Then again, i do like the torso opening, it differentiates keetongbro from other titans along with the yellow colour, gives him a certain charm.

Well, while I don't agree with some choices (like the mouths so many artists ended up incorporating into their designs), I can't deny some designs were actually improved in the movies, like the Rahkshi, Nivawk and the Hordika. Of course it's subjective, but I really do like movie Rahkshi a lot.

I will never not hate how popular Teridax's movie design (AKA some fatass demon goat-man) has become, though.

Yeah, what they did with Makuta and especially Takutanuva is baffling. But the complete disconnect kind of has a goofy charm to it in a way. It reminds me of 80's cartoon shows where the toys look absolutely nothing like the characters do on screen.

I found the toy/movie differences charming as a kid. Many of them shaped the imagination of fans (including myself), like the heartlights, the weapons stored on the back, the designs of the Rahkshi, just to cite a few. Even obscure things like Lewa's clawed feet, which didn't make it to the final MoL movie but still appear in MOCs from time to time.
No one would've thought about these things if the movies hadn't come up with them.

There are a bunch of things I wish they had avoided, like the mouths and irises, or potraying the Turaga as senile. But for what they were, the movies had quite the impact.

I love this dude's flicker. It illustrate very well how well thought out the concept of BIONICLE was, take your toys outside, there you go you're on mata-nui now.

I remember as a kid one day it snowed (it rarely snows where I grew up), I took Tahu Nuva and made footprints in the snow and it looked exactly like the footfrints in the sand from the promo material. It felt amazing to see this world come to life in weird ways like this.

I just recently acquired a bunch of Bionicle parts, I'm really excited to get into moc making and seeing stuff like this is really nice since it's at least a bit easier to tell what parts are being used. I really wish people weren't so tight-lipped about how they build things, I know the actual process of building is most likely an undocumented affair but it's really hard to get into making your own when you're a dumbass like me that doesn't know how any parts work at all.

There's no ending, it just peters out. There's a bunch of mass murderers on the loose, multiple still active evil factions, zombies on a space station, Lewa captured by ooga-booga tribesmen, meanwhile Mata Nui's spirit goes back to sleep in his mask and the good guys try to form a society. It's more of a lore thing for me.
All matoran that came in sets were abnormal in the Matoran Universe, except Metru-toran and Av-Matoran.
Mata-Nui matoran were like little weak midgets compared to a healthy matoran.
You can fix Metru-toran very easily by giving them the Toa-Mata neckfix and giving them Bohrok arms. Bohrok arms compliment also the Element-colors.

I like the Metrutoran the most, for me they are the best (and in-lore the most common) type of matoran. They are simple builds, just like matorans are supposed to be. Mahritorans are a very close second. The worst are the Av-matorans, they and Tohunga share a TOO simple build and have UGLY heads-piece.
Tohunge might be the most recognizable but to me they always seemed..small and uninteresting looking.

The point isn't to make it out of System parts exclusively, but to make the sets at a smaller scale with Mixels joints.
System, Technic, it's all the same toy. They're meant to be interchangeable, this is a concept showing how parts from both can be used together. Never understood this weird gatekeeping mentality.

Why not just use glorious and advanced technic building system. Set will be maybe $10-20 more expensive but retain playability and original aesthetic, while being accessible to fans and new builders. I don't get the aversion to reverting back to the technic roots of the theme when technic still exists in just as significant of a way as system does, exemplified by the predominance of technic elements in system sets nowadays. You fools can conceptualize all of these streched-thin concepts for how to create bionicle type sets using system pieces, yet refuse to consider something as simple and elegant as the Kahu bird. Bionicle was originally labeled as Technic, and should exist as such.

But the point of these is to offer a concept of tiny, smaller figures that you can feasibly build settings for, while still retaining their original functionality.

Also would in this hypothetical case make it easier for Lego to produce bigger and more intimidating adverseries to the toa without slapping a 30$ price tag on everything slightly bigger and see them collect dust on the shelves for all eternity. One of the the biggest problems for me personally was the weak ass tiny villains going against demi-god tier toa with the scaling being so fucked they had to ridiculously increase LoSS's size to make him look like a threat in all the promotional material.

Actually, G2's uniters remind me aesthetically of MH:W a lot, too bad everything they went against was tiny.

One of G1's biggest criticisms was that it wasn't very easy to use System pieces with it, just mostly Technic, and then CCBS sucked so badly because it wasn't compatible with any other system (until G2 started introducing more Technic compatible parts, at which point it started getting better). Mixels joints today are so good because they can be seamlessly integrated with System bricks to make whatever kind of figure you want. And I agree, the concepts are not immune to criticism, they have more than a few flaws that I can point out myself - but I think it's disingenuous to hold 2001 or G1 in general as the perfect system to rule them all. It has flaws too.

I used the 42020 helicopter to build a bird according the instructions I've found and I displayed it along with my other Rahi.
The only problem I have with this are the Kanohi. I would love to attach a Kanohi somehow, but I have no idea how.
And the same goes for the case if Technic released some animal sets. I just want them to have Kanohi.

I disliked the later serials to begin with, I didn't even get mad that they "ended" the way they did. The thoughtlessness in their plotting was astounding, I still don't understand why Greg is such a strong advocate of making shit up as you go and not fessing up to errors. Him abandoning the serials was almost like a mercy kill to the story by that point. But of course he still kept adding reveals after the fact through fan discussions.

Even if it's not merely your personal opinion among other humans, it's still just humans' own personal opinion. It's actually more liberal, in the sense of liberty etc. When you just write the three words and nothing more, yeah, it's vague, but actually going through the plot you can see clearly that "destiny" isn't anything like predestination. The Kraahkan, Krana, Kraata, and powers of several enemies are all mind control oriented and in many cases are specifically stated to "deter people from destiny," so you can fail at that. Being your best self (which is the actual destiny being prescribed here) is instead made out as a matter of exercising some sort of free will. Duty strikes me as sortof the same thing, with unity being the only left sounding virtue (which is not to say the others are particularly right).

He's cute, anon! I generally love system when used in a Bionicle build, and this moc shows that not all system in bonks needs to be for extreme detail or over-the-top patterning, but also subtle and cost-effective shaping that can give a model a lot of character through just a few pieces used effectively. Plus, the use of asymmetry tells part of a story that is begging to be completed. Not to mention all that gold-- makes me want to put together a dwarf-inspired Onu-Matoran, complete with a Noble Huna beard, a sturdy steel helmet, and a hefty pick! Thanks for posting this, anon. If you've got any more, I'd love to see it.
