I'm not, the vintage toy head does nothing for me. He looks goofy and doesn't even look like he belongs in the water (hence why they even used him for Stinkor, cause even they realized he looked like a weirdass skunk). The vintage art is what I much prefer for Mer-Man.

Jumping into this discussion, there's also a movie (netflix or cinema), a WWE crossover toyline, and a MotU proper toyline coming, on top of that netflix show, and netflix She-Ra. MotU is certainly not where it should be, but Mattel and Mega are certainly trying their best to push it back to the mainstream. The MotU MCX Heroes are so far also the most popular of their waves, so there's definite interest that exists somewhere. And lots of mainstream brands like Transformers and Fortnite that end up in discount chains. It isn't necessarily that they're not doing well or there's no interest, sometimes it's just time to push newer products out so the older products get pushed to the discount stores.

They're trying to reestablish the brand so they're using one of their popular properties (where the crossover makes a fair bit of sense too, akin to Remco wrestling figures, and the fantastical themes they sometimes push with WWE) to help bring back that style of figure and MotU theme, then pushing that the two toylines (MotWWEU and MotU Origins which will release later) will be cross compatible. I think that's a great way to reintroduce the brand to major retailers and consumers.

Let's say after Snake Eyes that GIJoe is a powerhouse brand again, I would think that it'd be a great idea if when Hasbro wants to bring back MASK that they start it off via crossover with Joe.

Not the same guy as the first anon who brought up Joe, but I was relating what Mattel is doing with MotU with what Hasbro might want to do with MASK, in that it's a viable strategy to reintroduce a brand that may not be as relevant as it once was, especially to newer audiences by using a more well established one. I brought that up because you or whoever it is above brought up that Mattel needs WWE to sell MotU because of the crossover toyline. I don't mean to be antagonistic but that really wasn't hard to understand.

I keep thinking there's no way they won't get these latest cool product reveals into stores for the holiday season. Then I remember it's Mega, so we won't see them (hit Canadian shelves) until February at the earliest.

Did anyone get any further details on the Aliens eggs? I've stretched out that image and can't see a single indication on the labels of what actually comes in a single xenomorph egg.

Movie got pushed back a year so toys for a movie that wasnt even out sat on store shelves. The first couple waves had an over abundance of Roadblock figures that ended up clogging shelves so stores stop ordering sets.

gi Joe died long before IDW. It was killed because stores stopped ordering product. Same thing happened to Heman in the 2002 reboot toyline.

So far just stress marks. I've stopped having them hold weapons, except for the He-Man that came with the wind raider, as an experiment to see if it'll break. I swapped the original Heroes release Man At Arms, Skeletor, and He-Man hands with the Castle Greyskull ones because those are my favorite looking ones so they get to hold weapons.

How do you guys store your loose Mega Construx elements? Right now I keep my unsorted bricks in a plastic shoebox, but I've been thinking lately of maybe breaking that down into zipper bags of bricks, plates, etc. for ease of finding pieces. Also, do you keep building elements separate according to theme? Like, the drab palette of COD doesn't exactly match up with a theme like, say, Welliewishers. I could probably get away with mixing COD with Halo, Destiny or Terminator, though. Storage recommendations would also be welcome.

You guys know there was a piece count in the image posted in >>7868936, right? Two egg halves, slime, the figure, a stand plate, facehugger for minifig heads, splayed open facehugger, and a queen baf piece. You can clearly see the queen thigh piece below the two facehuggers.

The only thing not verified by the picture is the price claim, but if it comes with everything the Heroes figure does, plus the egg, slime, and BAF piece, and a license to pay for on top of that I don't see why it wouldn't be more than a Breakout Beast. (Not saying I'm happy about that, just that it makes sense.)

Chances are it's just an alien, an egg and two facehuggers. Maybe there will be one unique alien mold or special recolor if we are lucky. But I doubt it'll be more than one alien, Mega is pretty shit at business models so this doesn't seem outlandish.

First things first whatever genius came up with storing these things in slime should reconsider his oxygen intake. The slime stinks and makes everything greasy and slippery. Had some Mononoke flashbacks trying to get them out of it. Hard to clean off too, but peel off the bulk, hot soap and water, soak for 15, and rinse and you're set. Just don't lose any pieces down the drain or overflow like I did. Damn. Lost the stags crownpiece but I ordered a new one from Mega.

Right got the hippogriff Rivenbeak from the Breakout Beasts and stag Rosestone from the Crystal Creatures at Wal-greens. Pickings were slim but it wasn't hard to find their codes. First thing you'll notice is they are pretty big. I thought they'd make cool mounts but the size difference between them and the minifig is substantial but not deal breaking.

Second thing you'll notice is that the hippogriff is very chunky. Very thicc boi. And his accessories are kinda shit too, translucent plastic pauldrons that would have looked better opaque orange or metallic. Hippogriff himself is great though, very solid sculpting. Paint on the beak is a little messy but whatever. He's got this matte speckled grey that makes him look like stone. His hoof pop out if you wanna give him claws and make him a griffin

Stag is very slim in comparison, thought they share a torso. He's bronze armor and transparent red roses and a gemstone, with pink feathery ankle cuffs that I'm not a fan of but they come off. He's very pretty, but doesn't feel like girls toy, if that bothers you.

All in all, really cool but that fucking slime. Kids and slime.

Kubros was more Mega's barometer for gauging consumer interest in a licensed property. Some sold better than others. My guess is Firefly was one of the others. I just bought 3 new Mal Kubros from Amazon for less than $12 total. Wish I could have ordered more, but 3 was the limit.

It's dated 2014. The mold looks to be the same as Heroes Fry.
They've each got unique printing, and I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like their hair and hats would work with figs with holes in their heads like the Assassins Creed ones

Different anon, but the slime is the reason I only bought 2 Breakout Beasts and proceeded to called it quits.
Plus the whole opening process before you can even wash it off. That shit was sticking to everything. Not to mention after washing it down the slime still did not want to leave some of the figures crevices, like the jaw hinge.
I'm sure it's fun for kids but it's too much of a bother for me. I still might buy an alien egg if I see it and hopefully the slime will be less of a runny soup.

I don't mind the lack of claws, because the new hands are satisfactory. I just really hope that they have fixed their leg joint & socket issues: I was fortunate enough to buy a handful of the latest blue xenomorphs, and every single one has a left leg that pops off at barely being touched. At some point I'll probably just glue the left leg on, but it's mystifying that they haven't solved this basic issue considering how amazing the rest of their figures are (although Evil-Lyn has a bad leg socket as well).

Finally got around to building my yellow Warthog. Surprisingly, it came with extra rail pieces that I wound up using on this arctic one.

I’m not really a fan of the leaf sprint parts, though. The rubber tubes in the arctic one feel much better.

Speaking of the Destiny line, my interest in Mega has pretty much dropped off since they cancelled the line. Is there any market to unload the stuff? I have pretty much every set, tons of minis, and I even have a bunch of sealed sets because I was going to build a big display and even bulk up some of the sets to make them bigger.

It move to Steam and the first year and a couple DLCs went F2P when Shadow Keep went live. Lot's more players on PC anyway. They've implemented cross saves as well if you want to jump to other platforms.

I also have several sealed, but its mostly smaller sets like armories, sparrows, the Xur and Saladin sets. I do have the Tank strike set sealed, and a Harvester Dropship sealed (well, I took the minis out, but I can include them if anyone is interested in the set. Otherwise, all the bags are sealed).

I also have some other stuff like 3 of the MCX Heroes battle-damage Xenos (two sealed, one opened) and I have the Pro-builder space rover opened and built.

I'll second that and add that Mega really needs to rely less on licensed IPs. Back during its heyday, they had only a handful of third-party licenses. Today their only original themes are Probuilder, Yootz, Inventions and Magnext (and I'm pretty sure Probuilder, Yootz, and Inventions are done for). Also, their customer base continues to skew older when they should be doing more to bring in younger builders.

I would like to see more original themes from them, but I want to see something with a lot of effort put in, maybe a storyline, or established original characters or something. I'm just not that excited by generic themes anymore like "viking" or "medieval." I know they still make for great building parts, but I just want more...life and character to them I suppose.
