I'm torn, on one hand she looks borderline retarded and her wacky hand gestures are kind of annoying, on the other she's quite fuckable and looks like a top tier milf straight out of a BLACKED video. recently found this technique for making steering for minfig scale cars on Flickr. I had to make a little model of the frame myself to test it. Holy fuck I can't believe I never thought of it myself, it works so well.

Any question asked about Lego can usually be answered with "money".

In this case; putting actual friends-sized figures into the set would have increased the price too much. So they shrunk the bodies to make them less complicated and costly, and kept the heads and hair pieces so they didn't have to make new ones. Result: bobbleheads.

At least you could use pliers on this. Its remarkable TLG could let such a stupid instruction through their usually rigorous quality control. In one fell-swoop it BTFO three pieces. And literally all you’d have to do to fix it is use a longer technic axle with a red bushing.

These are surprisingly alright.
I still don't care about the minifigs outside some re-usable parts for custom stuff though. I think kids will like the colourful wacky style of these but overall will still bomb thanks to the 'literally who and why?' sourcematerial and ip tied to it.

I had a post about the Unikitty cmf line a couple of threads back where i talked about how i liked them but the sets were lacklustre. I think this will be the opposite of that. Interesting wacky colourful sets, but figures with angrybirds tier poops and unwanted characters that will pull it under.

Thank you for the interest! the setting is fairly underdeveloped as of right now, but i've got a general idea of the factions and their aesthetic feel. Fourth column are squad leaders, fifth are standard troops. First column are current faction leaders, top is Empress Auriel, bottom is the President of the faction. Column 3 has Calloway, a military general. since i have decided space naval combat is a large part of the setting the second column are admirals, top being admiral Sturn and bottom being admiral Alban. I'm hoping to build the bridge interior of the two flagships and some battle scenes with the troops (that car i posted earlier is the first moc i've built in three years of being out of the hobby)

My setting is a "So Bad It's Good"/Cheesy as Shit 70-80's Kung-Fu/Buddy Cop kind of thing, where everybody has awesome hair, non-gun weapons are going to break out at some point and eventually Mr. T, a Kenshiro wannabe and some pro-wrestlers are going to show up as cameos because one of the main characters went undercover in some crazy underground Martial Arts tournament as a masked Ninja or something.

Guys, legal question here.

I don't buy Chinese brick toys that have Minifigures, because LEGO owns the Minifigures trademark, and I don't support these companies breaking the laws...

But the it occurred to me. Are they really breaking the law? I believe that trademarks only protect logos and things that identifies as a certain companies. Also, the Minifigures always comes in different flavors, with armors and clothes.

I don't believe they are breaking any trademark, actually.

What do you think?

What Lego owns is the specific design of the minifig (the way that the internal support struts are molded, the exact dimensions of the torso, the angle of the slope of the shoulders, etc.). Any variation from that is technically a different minifig, but judges in various countries rule in different ways on how similar it is to the official Lego minifig.

I disagree, or at least I think we'd need better definition of "modelling" here. I mean, trains in the smaller gauges may be expensive because they are more rare, but you don't necessarily need tons of those. And creating scenery yourself can be a fun hobby, one that is not needlessly expensive either.

The prices of an H0 or N locomotives are typically higher than the price of bricks needed to make yourself a Lego locomotive, unless you build 10-wide and/or use very rare colors. Scenery I'm not sure about, it depends on how creative you are with DIY stuff because you can get some really cheap materials for all the grass, bushes, etc. but this changes once you want realistic-looking water. One thing Lego is more expensive in for certain is track.

Sadly I don't really have a collection of figs for it, since LDD decals are a joke and I've only recently figured out how to work with custom stuff in stud.io, but it's basically a Strangereal-type sky-fi setting. One of the weird gripes I have with Strangereal is that they use IRL planes but don't have a good map for how the manufacturers map onto the countries. It's easier on my end since I'm designing the planes first.

(also it's a matriarchal setting, which I'm sure will piss some people off)

Anons, the main adventage of Egyptian temple over the rest is that they ctually made a whole structure with front AND back. Usuaully LEGO makes front wall only and the back is always open. This one can be actually closed without sacrificing playability.

It's how Egyptian temples looked like. LEGO obviously had to cut it short. The rest would be just full of repetitive column sections winding the price. They kept the front fascia and courtyard behind it.

>M1NDxBEND3R: My personal favorite for how his transformers and mechs are almost all minifig scale and compatible. Sells instructions for his mocs, but I think it's easy enough to figure out how to build them from the in-depth videos. His best stuff is from January 2015 to now, though his transformers have become fairly infrequent, overtaken by minifig-piloted mechs and general inactivity.

Speaking of Lego TF, local store has this book down to 6€. I've eyeballed it a bit but I don't know if it's really worth it since some designs feel a bit lackluster and there's only like 3 or 4 actual transforming transformers

I agree. I had to use Paint.net and that shitty software doesn't have the controls I'd need to properly edit the photo. So I just winged a quick two second edit.

Also: I was hoping for others to do their own edits on the same image, so we could compare, but sadly no one took the cue.

honestly not sure if I'd say he's good for learning, he goes very much into the extreme where everything is hinged and messy. It doesn't really feel like a thought-out transformation, more like moving tons of tiny parts until it vaguely looks like a thing.
