After playing SRW T Ive really been getting into train mechs. Unfortunately I guess Might Gaine is really old. Does anyone here collect mechanized trains or sci fi trains? Im not finding much.

Cool robot but the trains really don't look like trains. The old DX toy is rare now but there is a SMP coming.

A whole series about trains! Colorful train toys, ToQoh looks like shit because building robot out of vertical lines can only get you so far but good for train dick joke. Fun toys overall

Transformers has the JRX from Car Robots (2000), great Shinkansen combiner for its time but super rare now and goes for ~20k yen nowadays

There is also Web Diver, which is only remembered for really really awful CGs and Tomokazu Sugita. The toys look great but hard to find now.

Shinkalion is part of the plarail line, great train toys but you are basically just buying the same robot over and over again. Get the following if you just want unique molds

Don't unless you get a super bargain. They had notorious breakage issues even when they were new and that clear plastic that makes up much of the toy, shoulder hinges especially, has further degraded. It's almost GPS-tier in how fragile parts can be and the shoulders are the worst aspect of the thing.

The built-in games are barely worth playing either, they're like cheap Flash browser games and trying to hold the toy as a controller is a pain in the ass. The mode detection switch in the arm may also end up damaged due to the plastic breakage issues around it and it apparently relies on more than 1 switch to determine the minigames.

I'd only bother if you can get one dirt cheap, stick it in one mode and never transform it. Pity because both modes are quite nice. Seriously, the thing is a QC nightmare and if Tomy hadn't simply gutted Takara in the buyout and kept the few parts they wanted, we might have a chance to get new versions.

Forgot to bring this up, the combining train transformer from Transformers: The Headmasters (Raiden), is getting a new toy at some point. Takara teased him a while back so keep on eye on it. Be warned that it will certainly be a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive so expect it to be pricey.

Unfortunately you have to look up reviews for individual SoC releases, that particular Getter is very fiddly since it started out as a FREEing x Tamashii project, as a part of the Tamashii Mix line instead of SoC.

I do NOT recommend buying it.
Get literally any other transforming YF-19, no matter how cheap Yamatos go for these days.
