im at my friend's house and we mostly eat whats cooked in the house and few times when we visit big city like Rome.

Italy is literally the best country ever food-wise.
Not to mention italians take food preparation so seriously even regular families can cook something really awesome on restraunt-level.
To me the food that cooked on friend's house is better than food from restraunts.
Because...its literally same things only here its prepared not for another tourist but more carefully for guest.
I suggest you to try Cannoli and search more for SICILIAN food and places. Sicilians are italians on steroids in food terms.
