I care zero percent about Toonami. I loved it when I was a kid because it showed me stuff i wouldn't have seen otherwise, but i love that stuff, not the mascot guy from commercial bumpers.

I actually just might buy this. Not the biggest fan of Funkos but this is actually pretty cool and I've loved TOM since forever.

There's a few other POPs I wouldn't mind owning too but in general, I think they're pretty shit.

I honestly think having a pop lying around to remind me constantly that there will never be a decent figure is worse. If I have nothing, it will generally be out of sight, out of mind. If I have a pop, I'll just feel anguish about there being no better option whenever it catches my eye.

Funkos are often just off-model enough where they don't really remind me of the original thing in question, as much as they remind me of Funko marketing itself. Only exceptions I know of are the Domo and Space Invaders ones.

I think there is one actually, of course I might also be completely misremembering and be thinking of something else. I seem to recall a thread here ages ago where someone showed off a TOM figure they had, something super rare because it was an event giveaway or something. Of course it might as well not exist at that rarity, and again I could be thinking of some other character.

I actually loved Toonami because it tried to be a "show" in and of itself and not just yet another programming block. They really tried to embrace the emergence of the internet more so then any other network in a way I found really cool as a kid. "I can go online and VOTE for what the ship is going to look like for now on? COOL!" "I got to play the online game and help save TOM!"

It was very innovative for the time to have those big events that would "progress the story" of TOM and the ship and tons of tie in games that only really could be played during those events. They really played a huge part in my nostalgia for the programming block.

TOM? He was basically the "host" for the segment on the cartoon channel that aired all of the anime shows when anime became popular in America. DBZ, for example. And he had a whole little storyline, even got killed off and returned as a 2.0 version. It was pretty bad ass when you're 10.
