I'm extremely impressed with NECA's 1964 Godzilla. By far there best one. I feel like every time they put out a Godzilla everyone says its good and definitely the best one so far, but that's because NECA really does keep improving with every release.

Like just about everything I hated about their first Godzilla (1994) has been addressed at this point. The sculpt isn't shallow anymore. The paint is completely matte now except the eyes, not glossy like their earlier godzillas. Articulation points don't look weird anymore. Godzilla is actually grey. Sculpt actually looks like the movie.

I know people love to throw shit about NECA vs Monsterarts, but this NECA 1964 Godzilla I feel like is on par with monsterarts releases. It still might not have the range of articulation SHMA have, but it's sculpt is on par, and I think NECA actually has been doing better with the paint lately. And there's is like 1/4th the price as SHMA. I love both lines, I'm just calling it as I see it.

Do you happen to have any photos of your figure? I would love to see something, haven't taken the time to look up any reviews or anything on him yet. Was just hoping Target would get the figure in soon. I'm glad that he's apparently so good. I was really impressed with the vs Kong release.

Yeah no problem, but photos definitely don't do him justice. He's great. The only thing I would like them to improve on is the range of articulation. All the articulation points are there, I just wish I could move the elbows and hips a little farther.

Know Destroyah Godzilla got rereleased with new better packaging but it was essentially the same

I've avoided a lot of the NECA Alien releases due to some bad experiences with the Alien Warriors back in the day. But, when Target had that 25% off coupon, I couldn't resist picking up the Dog Alien as it just looked like such a cool figure.

I love it! The detail is awesome (I absolutely love how they did the dome, it looks soooo dang good) and the figure is way bigger than I was expecting. The chestbursters are a cool addition too! Couple stiff joints, but I was careful not to force anything and to have some hot water on-hand. Everything moves nice and smoothly now, with good, tight joints. Very fun to pose.

I'm having some trouble getting it into a good looking pose on all fours, though. I've tried copying NECA's promo shots, but I just can't seem to get it. I think I might not be bringing the head back far enough, but I feel like I'm already pulling it as far back as it'll go.

Also, I can't get him to close his mouth all the way. Seems like that wouldn't be possible since the inner mouth is there, but one of the promo shots has the mouth fully closed. Not a big deal at all, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Did manage this three-point pose though, which is super stable (I was even able to lift the forward arm and have the Alien stand on just the legs) and looks totally awesome to me. The bendy tail works fantastic too, it's great!

They want a photo on Wednesday, Thurs, or Friday. We don't stock, we just do a quick tidy up for the picture. I do it on Wednesdays, the rep most of the time seems to do their thing on Tuesdays lately, so that works out.

Boy, the pins sure do look funny at this scale, they're almost obscuring his facial features in fact. I don't claim to know how they could have been done better without becoming a safety hazard or too sharp to handle comfortably, but man, those things are THICC.

You just can't do pins small enough at this scale, certainly not at this pricepoint. I'm sure if the costs ballooned to $80 per, it could be done, but I'd question how well that'd work even.

Only way I can see the issue getting fixed is either

Goddamit, I opened up my Chrysalis Alien and the right arm popped off right at the joint. Tried fixing it with some glue and some dripped into the shoulder and froze that joint too. Shame because stock on these seems to have dried up everywhere except for online where shipping costs hurt the value. The AVP game wave is awesome but it feels like it was more prone to QC issues than most recent stuff.

Where is he denying fault? He's just saying heat/warm up the joints if they feel stiff. Neca is know for paint locked/stiff joints, but they aren't the only company.

Yep, it's pretty much a combination of original van dam pred design with caveman standard pred idea.

Not technically neca but just scored 5 of the kenner preds with most of their accessories for $22

I guarantee we'll see her as a figure, that bow is way too cool too.

Target had vs Mothra Godzilla today. Very impressed with this figure, not as heavy as vs Kong was, but still a damn good toy.

Saw the corpse Pamela Voorhees mego too, and they've re-release KOTM Godzilla v1 with fixed paint. Eyes were all clean and perfect on the 8 I saw between two stores, and they cleaned up the gum paint too. If you care about that sort of thing, it's a good improvement.

Also saw a bunch more Rocksteady and Bebops out today.

Legs were a bit stiff, but heat helped that. The breath effect is interesting, the mouth is so small, so it's a little tough figuring out how to get it to plug in.

The only thing that bugs me is 64's tail is shorter and thinner than 62's, not as short as the older Neca Goji's but still noticeably so. It's still a great figure but 62 is still Neca's best Goji.

QC's good in general. I buy a ton of crap as it is, never really run into a problem outside of a stuck joint. You should be happy with a Freddy. I have NOES 2 Freddy and he's really all I needed from a Krueger figure.

If you feel unsure about something just heat it up (boiling water or hair dryer) and gently work the joint, you'll be fine.

It can be something of a mixed bag but issues can vary wildly from figure line to figure line.
Typically the only universal issue is stiff/stuck joints.
>Human figures like Ash typically are good unless you run into a paint app issue, sloppy blood usually being the biggest thing in that category
>normal gremlins are top heavy and leg joints can either be extremely tight or loose, awesome figures but if theirs one thing I'd suggest a stand with its them
>predators biggest issue can be loose hip joints right out of the package which can be fixed with youtube help and some superglue

The way the bubble conforms to the figure and twist ties are affixed, it's impossible for that to be the way you just described. So either you're lying or someone broke the figure and returned it/did it in store.

Those pegs are always too tight, it was a problem with the Revo kaiju, too. Always had to heat them up, pull the peg out, insert it how I wanted it to pose, rinse and repeat. It's a damn godsend that they're doing more ball joints now than the revo joints.

When I worked at TRU, I saw quire a few Alien and Godzila figures with the legs broken off at the hip in clamshell packaging. Twist ties and the plastic bubble isn't a 100% safeguard against brittle plastic.

NECA's really the only company where you have to take a hair dryer to the figure before moving the joints. The 2014 24 inch godzilla even had a note in the packaging stating to warm up the tail socket before installing. I didn't have a note in my original release (NECA reps supposed to insert the note in the packaging) and when I installed the tail, the ball joint itself pushed back on the sound chip (placed right behind the socket for some reason) and the sound chip snapped in half. The did send me a replacement, but it took five months of emailing back and forth before it was sent. This was before they had a customer service twitter that you could message.

When did you work for TRU? In all my years there all NECA product came on the trucks and I stocked it from there. I remember checking the manifests the afternoon before trucks to see what was coming. I'm assuming they changed it up after I'd left. Regardless of that, never once saw that kind of issue. Especially out of the case.

I know NECA doesnt want to do an Ultimate Robocop because they cant get the guys likeness rights, but I wish they'd atleast rerelease their original robocop. Maybe with updated articulation?

And I would love to see an ultimate terminator endoskeleton that's engineered in a way that has good articulation and doesn't feel so fragile

Not to sound like Necanon, but what more articulation does he need? The suit was cumbersome and limited his movements a LOT. Unless you mean better wrists, because that's definitely something he could use.

This IS a pretty common practice among action figure collectors to free up stuck joints. I've had to do it a number of times with various domestic figures. I haven't had to do it that often but it is something that sometimes needs to be done. I've noticed $20-$30 figures need it more often than more expensive figures. I've never had to do that with an import figure.

Just heat up the hole and push it in. As for the hand, do the same, get a hair dryer out and give it a good heat up and then work the joints. There's a lot on that hand, it's amazingly articulated.

Mine was sort of like that too, the tape was loose on the right side. I forgot to heat up my Rocksteady and Bebop. Rocksteady's hip turtle shell came off and Bebop's gun hand is almost coming apart at the balljoint.
