>>7887992>so now I'm moving on to Playmates' Star Trek line.I loved that line. I should still have a bunch of my collection in storage somewhere.
I was in my local collectibles shop recently, and the owner told me how Star Trek just doesn't sell. eBay prices back that up. I found a DST figure I was interested in but the price was absurdly high. Owner told me it was a consignment so he didn't like that price either but it wasn't his to negotiate.
Sadly, my Playmates stuff has been in storage for so long I've lost track of what I never owned, so I'm afraid of re-buying shit I already have (I know, I know, they're cheap, but I'm spending mad amounts of cash on other stuff too).
But yeah, to answer OP - HELL YES I'm buying vintage. I've been picking up tons of shit I never owned but was aware of as a kid. To me, it helps tremendously, because I grew up with Star Wars, so restoring a figure with the wrong shade of paint would bother me, but buying up the Filmation Flash Gordon figures with the intent of repainting them anyway seems like a fun project. And I'm willing to 3D Print some replacement accessories, these are for MY enjoyment not for profiting.
ALL of this stuff will be like the antique toys of generations past - once the generation with the nostalgia and the money moves on, good luck getting a buyer.
