I appreciate that my timeline keeps getting reposted! I think it's far from finished, though. For example, it had notes for eras still in red text just overlaid all ugly on the top. Here's a version with some rough eras laid out at the top, based on how I feel most people think about them. Thoughts?

Turns out if an item has been up for over 6 months a seller is pretty willing to accept like 60% of their original asking cost

You'd have to ask Matt or Mori, since the current production Pheyaos arm is based on the arm Mori sculpted for the original vinyl Pheyaos back in the day. Not sure if Matt flowed him that idea via sketches or if it's something he came up with on his own.

The parts vary, really. On smaller, thinner pieces (like biceps, thighs, etc) the plastic skews a little closer to matte. On bigger pieces with plentiful curved surfaces (like heads), it can get pretty darn glossy.

I would say the figures feel quite smooth and pleasing in-hand, mainline Glyos (and some of the third parties) have sort of a rounded, bubbly aesthetic that feels good to handle.

I'd be up in arms if that were the case but I really think you're stretching here. I'm one of the poorfags who hates Maxepadd to some degree for having so much money and glyos, but I figure it's just a seller approaching him privately due to past transactions. I'm no old timer but I've been around long enough to have seen vinyl truly phase out, and I kind of get it. The new stuff is really cool but it's a very different aesthetic, not to mention all of the molds that will never see the light of day except for a limited release once every 3 years. My jam is Callgrim, who's had two releases in 4 years if I'm not mistaken, and that's why it's pretty much a necessity that I buy secondhand. It's a shame that people have to take their frustration out on those who have what they don't, but I understand why the newer stuff wouldn't necessarily just fill that void.

Enigma was so close to being an 'important drop'. The debut of Pheyaos, a nice new colorway with lots of figure options, etcetera. But it was just as relatively unceremonious as every other drop. The best explanation I can come up with is he just doesn't like it very much anymore. He is certainly weary of it's performance -a little- from sitting on stuff from the clear drop and stuff from galaxia 2 for a long while, but clear is boring and galaxia 2 just plain didn't look very good. I think at this point he believes that it's a handful of vocal minority that want it- Maxepadd and Rez will bug him at least once every show to make more, but at this point their opinion means nothing because they're just a couple of crazies that keep bugging him when it comes to the vinyl. I'd highly recommend that each and every person that wants vinyl to post on the blog comments about it- and often- and know that even then, even if like 50 people request it, it still probably won't happen. Just like how lists are over, or how he doesn't like to run the Dark Traveller group mold because he hates how the heads turned out, or any number of other things. You've seen Matt post a few times about how in order for him to keep doing this it needs to feel fresh and creative on his end, and I really think that's the key. The vinyl is great, yes, and while it is very unique it's library and parts use is much more limited than the PVC. So I get the sense that creatively, he's a bit done with it. The higher costs and greater financial risk are just a side concern that even further cement his stance on not really wanting to do it anymore.

He's a customizer with a really wild aesthetic, I've always wanted to handle one of his pieces. They're very rough, and are super imperfect (I don't think this thing was even primed or topcoated, you can see the clear plastic beneath areas of the black).

I don't think he has anything else for sale right now but he's one of those guys who puts up a shit ton of stuff at once every now and then. They also tend to be super cheap, I got that Callgrim for $40 shipped and that's with a figure that goes for $10 blank and what's basically a Rig Runner, which was a $20 value with much less paint than this has.

No guns, though, but I think the spare head and cross make up for that.

For detail lines I've always just gone over a lacquer paint with acrylic panel lining then use thinner to clean it off. If you coated it properly, the lacquer should protect the paint underneath.

Exactly, it's great. It's also why Rechlen and Aves frustrates me, because I want them but I feel like they can be done very easily as just extra heads for a Glyan with maybe a poncho or something. The original figures are cool concepts, but they don't need to be made for the characters to get some love.

If I really really like the color I usually go all in and spend $120-200. If I just want a few figures, I usually end up spending maybe $40-70.

As for general drop advice, the most important thing is to be there on time and make sure you have a stable internet connection. Sometimes the drop goes live a few minutes early so I'd recommend refreshing every 30 seconds or so. Also, you may get cart jacked, it's unfortunate but it's sort of just how it is. Try to work fast to prevent it, but just remember to not be too upset in case you couldn't get everything you wanted. See you at the next drop, and I hope it's a fun experience for you!

I'm an all or nothing kind of guy at this point. I'll try to pick up one figure from every Onell drop, but if I miss one it's no big deal. But if a drop or color comes along that really kicks ass, I'll put in anywhere from $200-400. In the vinyl days I'd go for $600, or as much as my budget would allow.

I've ordered from 10 drops. The most I've spent on a single drop is $144 (Renegades wave 82) and the least is $26 (Pheyaos debut Wave 80) for an average of $78 per drop, or ~$780 total.

But Onell is only 36% of what I've spent on Glyos. See this chart. I gotta keep track of this stuff for budget reasons so I don't go out of control...

You *can* make this with one axis set but I'd recommend 2 sets, if you use one you'll have to use multiple switch pins to make the connections, which for small axis to shoulder/hip connections can make them feel a little bit less sturdy. With two sets you'll have enough to only use axis halves without any switch pin mods.

2) Phase Arms are what you're looking for there. Pretty much purpose-made to be used as cannons, with multiple configurations and good connection areas. I have a lead or two on some people within the community who have an excess of that colorway they'd probably be willing to sell, if you're interested in buying more I could ask them.

It will be the greatest figure ever if done correctly. Multiple head options, larger figure that breaks down into more parts.. it's the perfect combination of a lore character mixed with a builder fig and army builder. Just imagine having a commander (classic Delphi head) with a couple of lieutenants (female or young Delphi head) getting flanked by an assload of armored Delphi, all with all sorts of different arm cannon configurations and shit. I don't think it's going to reinvent Glyos, though, because even back in the CC days Delphi were at best taller Travelers with big heads and big guns. I'm pretty sure the only reason people think of them so highly is because they can't actually find or afford one.

Here is an extremely rough breakdown on a small Glyos bot I've been designing for a few months. Its gone over many iterations to what's in the pic. Imagine it just slightly taller than Naboto. Great care was taken to design parts which could be used for other things as well as what new options they bring to the table. The bot has 2 contained configurations as of this step of the design phase and the pic has been crudely color coded to show what parts swap to where.

What are your initial thoughts? What changes would you make? Would you be interested in a small figure like this?

I think it's pretty cool, and my advice is less about that exact image and more a general thing. If you're going to make angled cuts, be specific about them. Usually 45 degrees is a good way to go, because it just lines up more when building. Also, try to take some notes from the rig and make it so that parts look like something in every possible orientation. I dig the idea, though.

Hell yeah I would buy that, there are so many interesting build parts there. The contained builds themselves are lacking character on their own, though. The build with the light blue hat on top as a head in a davy crockett looking way looks like the default, but it needs more character on the front. More of a face than just three lines. The alternate build is cool as an alt build, though.

They both don't look like they would stand up and balance, and the left one's legs are super awkward like that.

This was a fine drop and a lot of the figures looked good to me, the only problem was that they looked so similar to shit I already had that I couldn't really justify double-dipping. Like, I already have a really nice Cane build from the Reydurran drop, and a ton of Skaterriun/other off-white/grey parts. I could totally see myself buying a lot if I didn't already own all that.

I just bought all the clear stuff and called it a day.

Got the biopyre pheyaos, the DSG, Cane, the black armorvor and crayboth, orange heads/wings and some black accessories. Was going to get the biopyre cray but got cart jacked during checkout.

Been quite a while since I actually paid attention to Glyos and that pheyaos mold looks cool, I might keep an eye out for future drops with that Geodraxis figure, I don't own one but it looks like a fun parts pack.

You have a good start for figures, a nice selection to begin with. But what you really need and will want in the future is a larger selection of joint types and accessories to work with. Get more while you can or plan to next time, because primary colors are only offered so many times a year, and rare one-off colors are hardly ever offered again.
