Anyone know anything about these "Dino Strike" toys? They seem to be by the same company that does those blind eggs choking the shelves. Wondering how they compare to Breakout Beasts and if you can swap the parts/armor about.

Op here, from what I gather
>1 dino per ball despite the line being called "5 Surprise"
>13 types in their catalog.

It's probably 5 surprises because they're counting the dino parts separately along with the gun and bullet. Kind of a stupid blindbag format for what is basically one toy. But they're probably just trying to put these out in the same format while they have everyone's attention with their mini brands line.

I actually found these at a grocery store and was going to talk about them. I think they're actually pretty cool toys and if they dropped the surprise angle and just sold them carded the US$6 they go for here would be easier to swallow. They could even drop the price to $5 or use the extra money on more paint. Or they could throw in something like a dino riders techno-saddle that can plug into the top port and have a zoids-scale pilot that rides in it. In all I think they're a neat idea and fun toys but nothing I'm going to go out of my way to get.

I've been buying them at Walmart, they're pretty pricy in Canada at $10 a pop, but I'm a sucker for things that remind me of my childhood Dino Riders toys.

I got 6 different ones at first but the most recent two I bought were duplicate green raptors. There's an orange raptor, t-rex, pterosaur and therizinosaurus that I don't have yet for normal dinos. I don't have any skeletons yet, but the only one I'd really care about would be the gold spinosaurus skeleton since there isn't a regular spinosaurus.

I agree that counting these as 5 surprises is dumb but they also did something similar with their Unicorn Squad line for girls, although the accessories with those did kind of fit as 5 surprises better than the Dino Strike contents do.

Got the Plesiosaur today! Pretty lucky because thats the main one I wanted and I only grabbed one. He's pretty cool, there's an action gimmick when the squeeze the back flippers his neck moves.

High-five! I went back to the store to get more and got him too! I noticed one of them had noticeabley smaller/looser parts in it when you shook it. I thought it was the skeleton, but it turned out to be the plesiosaur (smaller fins). Just a heads up in case anyone else is after him.

The orange velociraptor has a spring loaded leg gimmick kind of like the one in the Jurrasic World toyline, In fact both types of velociraptor look like they're aping an action gimmick of the Jurassic World toyline as the green raptor has a flailing arm action, though its activated by moving the tail rather than pushing a button on the figure's back.

Yeah they’re a Texas thing. Maybe try checking in other stores that don’t usually stock toys. Everyone was trying to make up for TRU so I’m sure there’s a lot of places looking to get rid of a lot of toys.

Well I did it. And I saw the checklist for the first time and I saw that they have a skeleton T-Rex that I fucking want. This is what I hate about surprise toys, if I want that skelly rex I’m probably gonna have to buy out the whole box to get it. Wish I could just pick which one I want.

The gold figure is nothing special, thats the normal color the spino skeleton comes in, I've pulled 2 already. I pulled a stygi with a deformed leg 2 days ago and got another today with 2 right launchers. At least I can make 1 good one now but geez these things are already pushing it at $6 without the qc issues.

I got another one today, and I kind of love these things. I might have to get a couple more. I really like this blue guy I got, but unfortunately I can’t get him to stay up on his own. I was a little unsure about the red dino I got, but my plesiosaur is great. I like the armor they come with, it’s cute.

I just got a couple more at the grocery store and this time I weighed them in my hands because I wanted the skelly Rex and regular Rex. And I got both! The skelly ball felt really light holding it, while the regular Rex felt heavier than the others, even heavier than the ones beside the skeleton.

It varies from store to store right now. They arrived in displays with other Christmas toys and don't have an aisle location at most of the ones I've been to. They'll probably be with the slime and other blind packed type stuff
