Figuarts. That’s basically it. NECA figures look good but they have piss poor articulation and they break if you look at them wrong

Yeah, avoid Neca, itsbecome a money pit. Figures look good and when one breaks you're ok because it was "just" $20-30, then you end up with 5 or 6 broken ones and you realize how much you lost on crap.

Their articulation really depends. Some figures have pretty exceptional articulation, but most are pretty average. Not terrible, but not outstanding.

The breakage issue shouldn't be acceptable though. Especially since the prices on their figures are creeping up as time goes on, so figures that were roughly $20-ish are now in the $30-$35 range.

I think its mostly that whatever they do to paint the figures causes paint to seep into the joints sticking them. They need to figure out some way to avoid this, and I think that would fix the large majority of breakage issues.

More obscure figmas from japanese stores and auctions.
Same for some Revoltech toys.
The less popular character is, the cheaper they are, while being high quality.
Can be anywhere from 10 to 40 bucks without shipping.
Pic related is literally under 15 bucks.

I think figuarts are much better though, but they're twice as expensive.
Still under 100.

Then you have Robot Damashii and Mobile Suit in Action lines, which are super cheap for non-mainstream mechs.
Popularity is the deciding factor there.

I really want to like Neca. I love how creative and extensive they get with their licenses paying an upwards of $40 for things to be this brittle just keeps me away.

Just about every revoltech successor line is absolute kino. Moreso AY and Vulcanlog then the legacy/disney revo stuff.
Also S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou is toy kino, normal SHF's tend to suck more often then not.
But finding some of the better ones (Decade, W, Kuuga, Hibiki) for under 100 is kind of a pipe dream. But OOO, Wizard, and Ichigo/Nigo are still cheap depending on where you look.
Just don't get amazon. Amazon sucked.

Why don't you tell us what you're interested in anon? I'd second the SHFs. Especially their Bugmen and Dragon Ball lines. I only have a couple bugmen but they're pretty great. I do collect Dragon Ball though and barring a few exceptions like Gotenks, they have been absolutely fantastic.
