>>7904800Hasbro spent $4 bil on Peppa Pig & PJ Masks- they also got Death Row Records in the deal, which they will no doubt either sell of or kill of because "corporate image" or something.
Of course they will lose money. It will take them years to break even on that if they can sell it. They're already trying to recoup on Power Rangers(remember they fired 500 employees citing "low profits" a month before the buyout) and since Hasbro's own toons are unwatchable shit, Peppa is destined to be watered down and fail.
I have to think they were suckered into buying, because if the franchise was still making bank, the owners wouldn't have been in a hurry to sell. It's probably already declining and Hasbro were the types who would buy a piece of paper saying they owned the Brooklyn Bridge. They got taken. Be wary when a "successful" franchise is up for sale, it's probably a sign it's dying. Disney got taken by George Lucas for Star Wars, which can't make money anymore and was going to fail no matter what direction the sequels took, they would never live up to fan expectations(those who reviewed George's own ideas said they were godawful crap about the Force being a life form or some stupid shit).
