I stopped collecting a couple years ago, but I’m back and I see there is now a figma and mafex alien big chap. Which is the definitive figure? I had the Bandon’t one and it randomly broke one day, I’ll admit it...

NECA. If only because it's cheap. So it doesn't matter that it's made of a rubbery plastic that feels like it'd tear apart any time. For a figure that's just for display or posed for just a few pics, the NECA is sufficient.

As a fan of both lines, I will say that Mafex had tons of QC/production issues while the Figma is purposely stylized so it's not ideal if you want a movie-accurate figure (plus it's reportedly small since Figma are non-scale). Wait for the upcoming NECA Big Chap since there's a new and improved one coming out soon.

The Figma is a really nice figure, but it's stylized by Takayuki Takeya (the guy behind most of the SIC sculpts). If you're down with that and are ok with the price, it's quite a good figure. He also did a really nice Predator to match.

Mafex is closer to the movie design but the Figma is the better figure.
