The sequel was lower budget, poorly acted and was trying to aim at the PR fans much harder. It's almost unwatchable as a result.
>>7932932An early PR concept, on the "new footage" US end when they were going to use the name Galaxy Rangers(I would guess the existing cartoon by the name prevented them from using it), also had a very different idea compared to the final product, they were a more diverse group instead of high school students. One was a police detective. I guess that wasn't as marketable to the intended audience though. By then they were using Zyuranger footage though, that much had been finalized
The early trailer also used Judas Priest's "Electric Eye" as placeholder music, which is probably why the final theme sounds like it's desperately plagiarizing "Painkiller", they seemed to want to stick with Priest but the rights were probably too hopeless.
