Blythe and Littlest Pet Shop, quite a strange pairing eh? Two totally unrelated franchises smashed together to rebrand one of them. I was a fan of the television show but apparently kids were not fond of the new style of pet toys, and did not care for Blythe dolls

I liked them in about 2007-2009, I lost interest naturally as I got older. I remember the designs kept getting busier and busier. I think I've still got a salon playset in my closet.

Wasn't a salon, I still have this gym. Looking through all these pictures of the different sets makes me miss these toys. I know holding on to every little thing isn't realistic, but I regret getting rid of some things. Like I got rid of every single one of my my little ponies, and I regret not keeping at least my G3 Pinkie Pie that I played with a ton. I at least kept a few of my little pets, I'll take a picture of them

I'm apparently part of the minority who prefers the ball-jointed pets to the bobblehead ones.
They're cute, it's a shame their distribution was so garbage that finding the more exotic animals that showed up in later waves was a pain.

What's good about those generic animals? None of these are "good" like under the terms you'd consider an action figure "good", but like where is the collectibility there in some generic animals? I think there is probably a reason the stylized uniform big headed pets got a big fanbase while the kind of generic or random earlier versions of the brand didn't really.

They tried desperately to revive Jem a couple years ago with a comic no one read and that awful movie which litters bargain bins now. They probably only stopped short on toys because the bean counters knew Brian Goldner's delusions wouldn't move product.
