Like I saw it was Superman, or something, but I didn't even know his name was Steel. I didn't even know he was black! Honestly I was like 7, if I had known he was black I probably wouldn't have bought it.

I actually owned a Man-E-Faces. I was born years after after He-man, so TMNT was the one I was obsessed with due to the latter being most prominent. I still wonder if it wouldve been worth anything since i never really wore out my toys

I knew he was from TMNT thanks to the packaging but I've never seen him in the 80's animated show. Apparently his name is Rahzar, he's one of the villains from one of the live action movies of which I barely seen maybe half of them as a kid. Normally I dig the side characters and episodic bad guys from TMNT but I wasn't really into this guy, which is weird because I was a massive furfag even as a kid.

My brother-in-law is a cool guy, he was the first adult who was into toys I knew and he always liked to pick stuff up stuff at comic shops and TRU he thought looks cool(much to my sister's chagrin; she's 17 years older than me which is why I'm a 6 year old with a brother-in-law). He'd usually give it to me after a while because he mostly just wanted to check out the sculptwork. Anyway, This is one of those figures. Made for a great general villain. Later I found out he was from the battlestar Galactica 90s comic, because everything had a toyline in the 90s.

You were into TMNT but didn't see the movies as a kid?

Basically, after TMNT (the first movie) came out, it was seen as kinda dark and violent, so they toned it down for the second one. The Cartoon had Bebop and Rocksteady, but there weren't any characters like that in the movie, so in the second movie they added two characters, Tokka and Rahzar who were the "Not Bebop and Rocksteady" for the movie. Like, they were two other mutant animals (Tokka was a snapping turtle, and Rahzar was a wolf, IIRC) but they were nothing like Bebop and Rocksteady.

I had this chromed 4poa action figure, limbs were black but also did a gradient into clear pink. He had tubes on his back i think. Button on chest lit up his exposed brain and eyes, mask itself kinda had a darth vadee thing going on (but just the mask part). One of his hands was shaped into a giant claw. Always used him as some sort of Big Bad for all my toys

My mom used to model at conventions and picked this dude up for me as a prototype without the packaging. Some guy was trying to flirt with her and gave her this to give to her kid.

I called him "Whirling Dervish" and pretended he was a tiny Asian man with wind powers because he didn't fit the scale of the rest of my action figures. He was part of a surprisingly large amount of adventures.

early years it was very rare but there. Loki made him aware of the 4th wall back in new mutants/x-force but it wasn't till Deadpool 28 that we saw him actually break it, I think the next was issue 33 and it was very sparingly until the "omg I LOVE Deadpool! He's so wacky!" fandom rolled in around the early 00s to which then it became an almost page to page wall break which really lessened the character

Yeah, I don't remember him breaking the fourth wall all that much in his own title so I guess it became more common in the later appearances, I mostly just remember him being a motormouth.

I remember him more for the storyline where Loki cast a curse on him that's supposed to make you super ugly, but because this was Deadpool, he ended up looking like Tom Cruise instead and everyone kept mistaking him. He even based his face into a bathroom mirror, only for it to reconstruct back into Tom Cruise again.

I haven't read comics for a couple years now so I can't comment on modern stuff but even during the "lol deadpool is so randum!" Era we still got some compelling stories with the character.
I feel like the problem mainly comes from other writers not knowing what to do with no when they have him appear in their book, so they default to memepool.

He always did past the phase in his early life where he was just a deathstroke clone. It was more pop culture references and slight 4th wall stuff. His comedy was dark and it was balanced with the soul crushing character development of Wade. He didn't turn into a shit eating memster until waypool, which was after the cable and deadpool run.
