Plus the line stays alive longer if they make shitty reuse versions of stuff, instead of making amazing versions of everything. I imagine there’s at least a good chunk of people who got their 80th Thor, Iron Man, Cap, and Hulk, and now they’ll never buy another version of those figures again. Meaning the reuse of parts is now useless. Fewer people want US Agent on that body, or Stealth Iron Man. Easier to make a less popular version first, then make the quintessential version for cheap. That’s why sinister six is taking so long to complete, we got less popular versions of Kraven, Electro, and Vulture first.

Characters like Rhino, Pizza Spidey, Spiderman 2099, Rogue, Hobgoblin, Sandman BAF, just can’t seem to get rereleased, despite their insane aftermarket. I don’t get it. It would literally print them money.
