Just picked this up and the alien queen from walmart this morning. Why are walmart exclusives so valuable online? Is it the hazard pay from braving the high likelihood of getting shot?

This was an interesting reveal, seems i found out about this on 4chan before any pics actually surfaced, and the first few weeks had no info about it. It being a motorized toy instead of having articulation is a bit disappointing, though.Funny how Mondo toys started because the owner said he wanted to make the kind of toys he didn't see at Wal-mart and now this exists.

I think Walmart has been incentivising toy companies to make exclusives for them so they can truly capitalize on the market share left in the wake of TRU's demise. This can be seen with Lanard's last four big lines (Jumanji, Kong, Aliens, and Rampage), the fact that the godzilla toy lines have been exclusive to Walmart since KOTM, and now this. Aside from having four separate companies working for them already, producing exclusive budget toylines, they seem to be branching out further. Hell I'm pretty sure both upcoming MOTU toylines will also be exclusive to walmart.

They are chinese. Its pretty solid though. My 2 year old was being pretty rough with it. The arms articulate. Its priced right where it should be. Its not a deal, just a solid $20 toy.

The diamond select is much better quality. I actually bought one today because it was only $35 on amazon. I dont think the audio samples are even from the movie with these. But its priced competitively.

So... Completely underestimated how big Robby would be, but I'm actually okay with how they look together. I grabbed the Giant too, but I've waited long enough for a Robby so he had to get opened first.

Now that I have both, not gonna lie I think the $20 chinamen one is nicer. I would highly encourage people to seek them out if they like $20 robots. Also I have been quite happy with the alien queen as well.

Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the big Alien Queen looks cool. The alien figures have weird cheap-looking paint colors in general but the Queen's is a purple that's both a touch closer to black but also fun to look at.

It definitely has a general look to it that says children's toy, although it does have a little more detail than I would have expected. Basically it almost looks more like if there was a theoretical Forbidden Planet movie coming out in a few months and they put out legit kid merch for it. But these feel like they were sort of trying for both the kid and collector markets a bit.

This isn't really that bad in terms of scalping, just saying. The forty dollar ones look like a ten buck profit on the scalper's part. The box is probably a bitch to ship with how big it is. This may be a legit option for people outside the US. You aren't going to get this direct from walmart if you arent a burger, so at least you can be glad that the prices aren't super rapey.

I'd skip Iron Giant. It looks super cheap and has very little articulation. Queen is cool, but limited. Robby is the best bet due to the lack of easily available merch for the character.

Depends. How much do you like these franchises? If you love all the movies, I say get them all. If you only want, say Robbie, as a novelty, then skip him. If you have a genuine appreciation for the character, then definitely get him because he is huge and like other anons have said, he gets next to no merchandise

If you actually like them all I don’t think you’d regret it because they are very affordable toys for characters that don’t often get toys ( except the alien queen and when she gets toys, they’re expensive because she is very large )

Diamond select is coming out with a 9 inch Giant in May. If you're after articulation and swappable accessories wait on him, it will be more worth it. But this Walmart Giant won my heart, I've been wanting a giant since I was a kid. For the price and what you get, this is my boy.
