>>7961933>Nothing insane about hating the fact the objectively worst version of Transformers gets front and centre treatment thanks to crusty 40somethings screaming every time anything doesn't resemble their shit-tier cartoon and tries to improve the brand.>I wish we'd get actually good series getting the original molds and geewoon shit getting scraps in the form of retools every now and then.>A BLOOO BLOOO BLOOOI'll bite, as a fan who pretty much sits firmly and exactly in between G1 and Beast Wars considering I became a fan in the 90s, but before BW came out and loved BW once it did and still love it.
Beast Wars was novel for it's time and a much needed shake up that the brand needed, but after all these years you've got to be nuts if you think the BW aesthetic has as much appeal or staying power as the G1 designs. The whole semi organic robots wearing disgusting slabs of animal flesh really is just not that appealing at the end of the day. Honestly, Beast Wars characters would be a lot more appealing as new toys if they G1-ified them, much like they have done with in Cyberverse. They'd be better off and better looking placed into a G1 esque design and given the kind of fully mech treatment of like the Insecticons, Dinobots, Predacons, etc etc.
There is also the fact of the matter that a lot of BW toys really don't need updates, lots of them still look just fine for collector purposes, sometimes even better than modern toys since they had more paint and attention to detail in the decos. And hell, they do throw a bone every now and again for the show only autists, you had the chance to buy a show accurate Rhinox, Waspinator, Rattrap, etc along with the Masterpiece figures if it's that important to you.
