The cracking only really happened on some of the long double socket parts introduced with the Visorak. But the cracking wasn't that bad, even on the translucent ones that came out later. But then all of a sudden with 2008 every socket onward till ccbs was the shitty, brittle thin type. Only lime green had issues on the old sockets and even then not as bad as the 08 style

Bara Magna was rushed as hell, so seeing more of the settlements before they became a robot would have been nice.

Unpopular opinion, I prefer Vahki to Rahkshi. They have a better second mode, their arms aren't stumpy in comparison to their legs, and the Disks reintroduced with them, I feel is a better incorporated collectible than Kraata. You can give them to Tohunga at least, whereas Kraata dont really do anything other than fit in the spine slots of Rahkshi.

This is how I feel. They think adding utterly pointless trivialities to canon expands the lore and gives them bragging rights because Greg barfed out a thoughtless response to their dumbass questions. Like there's this guy who pestered Greg endlessly just to canonize meaningless drivel like that some sea animals died when the GSR stood up, and a bunch of stuff about background Rahi that never appeared in the story. That doesn't expand the lore, it's pointless fluff no one cares about. But it's now canon, it's on BS01, and there's always some deranged autist who will obsess and nag Greg over even more meaningless factoids and act smug about it, as if they had accomplished anything of worth.

Well, instead of making progress on the 8 remaining years of G1 story I plan to cover, I went back and started giving an overhaul to the really crappy old stuff. And then I also felt compelled to make a fancy graphic about it. Project remains safely on track to outlive the game itself.
I think I've managed to adapt more or less all important aspects of Ta-Koro with this design (aside from various other Matoran, of course), but fellow lorefags are very much invited to point out anything I forgot.

I also like Matatu, mostly because it and Ruru are only Turaga masks that cover almost all of the head. Other Turaga masks leave bit too much visible for my liking.

They where also pretty shit story-wise but I like their short, bulky stature way more than most of the later Toa builds. Thanks a lot. Damn the lime green one was the worst. Didn't have a clue for the floppy rubberry things on a chain on where they went and had all the limbs off and head off. And was thrown off by the random pegs in the arms if it should have had armour

Thankfully the colour coding helped in putting them together, would have been stuffed otherwise

You'd be better off with a red tissue paper covering her than that flag. Also the edit sucks, People should be able to tell it's supposed to be Coronachan without a virus on the background.

The frame itself isn't that bad. There is just nothing that tells me it's supposed to be Corona

All in all just missing a slug launcher and 2 slugs for Ehlek aswell as needing a new lime green foot ball joint thing as there's a crack in one. And a couple of Zamor balls for Dekar. The rubber slugs seem be the only potential pricey thing which is understandable.

No I was okay with it not being Mata Nui. Okoto isn't a bad name, but looking back at G2 is kinda weird. Like Ekimu was a pretty decent name to, like Lego was trying, but then they had the throw back Toa and the names felt like they didn't quite mesh. And then nothing else really had a name and just went the generic Hero Factory route. It was weird cuz it was like Lego wanted to pander to nostalgia, but make it something it's own, but then also didn't care

Did really well again, just cost me £6 for the lot, plus had 8 zamor spheres included to.

The green and gold guy is missing a mask and looks to be short another weapon. The white guy with the big mouth just needs an axle connector through the head to hold the mask on better and green guy needs a red pin for the blaster. Otherwise looks alright :)

Not really a misconception but on the original Toa Mata I had all their hips and shoulders connected on the side port because 1, at the time I didn't know some were supposed to have it connected differently, and 2, I found the more full and thicker aesthetic more appealing.

The arms have a lot more power behind them because of the kinetic energy that's stored when you pull them back. The launchers are cool and a lot easier to aim but aren't as strong and can be a little inconsistent and wobbly when they're launched. You'd probably like the rhotuka spinners a lot too.

You guys ever feel weird reusing a design you've come up with? Idk why but I feel lazy like I'm plagiarizing myself. I finally got a Protectoran build I like, the one on the left, I used the Brain Attack head as a thigh and it really filled out the whole shape, but now I feel weird adding it to any of the others, like a fear of them ending up too samey, even tho I have to build 7 of them and there's only so much variety you can do

A bit of sameness in a line of related builds contributes to authentic canister set feel, so it should be fine as long as there are also visible differences beyond color/mask/weapons to balance it out. But if you really want them to be entirely distinct maybe you should go for different body shapes from the ground up, like how 2015 made Master Onua swole as hell.

I'm sure I've seen a build that uses those as shoulders, but they ride pretty high because of the lip in the front iirc. Here's something similar, personally, I'd just slap liftarms on y cups or hordika necks until it werks.

Wait though, is that piece the same as the orange one anon posted? It's probably still from Hockey, but Nuju's shoulder armor is a much bigger and elongated piece. The orange one is just a small helmet, around the size of a Hau.
