>>7983088There will always be a new trend.
Funko will stop with the GoT and make way more rick and mortys, "whats this? people love the mandalorian, quick get 12 baby yoda sculpts and dig up every mandalorian armour colour we can find" They have IPs that make the money and they have IPs to catch out us, or so you can buy grandma a Pop, its really clever in a lot of ways, but clearly showing issues as far as sustainability is concerned, the stock will rally though, whenever a IP they have a strong foot hold in buoys to the forefront of public consciousness, they will be ready to make a fat enough margin to sustain them.
Now what i think will actually go against them is when the 'its hip to love fantasy and Sci-fi' thing goes away, my money is that every Normie will be a turbo hippy soon, staunchly anti plastic, anti waste and pro-environment. Funko (and a lot of others) will struggle. Funko will probably go into restructuring and do as most toy companies do, make licensed stuff aimed at children ( as opposed to the adult collector) or try and get the high price point but low margin mega collector route ( not exactly likely).
What we are seeing now, is certainly not indicative of the problems ahead, and i wouldn't even say related, but if we are getting the spreadsheets out, there is some far more worrying data analysis to be done.
