my dad is so hypocitial when it comes to toys amd colectibles he buys silver coins and stuff like that and calls my figures i love a wast of money cuz they have no value had anyone had to deal with something like this if so what do you do about it? (picture not mine)

The whole point of collecting is that it's largely pointless but personally enjoyable. If you get into collecting anything for the "value" you're better off just getting into stocks and investing. It's the same as hobbies, if your hobby is justified by making a profit first then it's really just a job.

Silver coins do have solid resell value but odds are he doesn't plan on selling them, because the point of collecting is to keep shit. If it was about the money he'd sell them for stocks, something without personal attachment.

If you want to collect silver coins, then go for it, but literally every person I've set up next to at a gun show who was trying to unload that crap never did.
