I'd wish for Funkos to die, but they're doing a pretty good job of killing the company themselves.

We're hitting that beanie baby slump. The honeymoon phase of buying an atrocious lump of plastic just because you recognize the reference is ending, and retailers aren't selling or ordering as much as they used to.

Pops are pop culture referential shit, Re-action are novelty nostalgia bait, and people are tired of the ratios and prices of the Mystery Minis. Aside from certain devoted obsessive collectors, a large portion of the fanbase is moving on. Funko's days are numbered.

All the other obnoxious shit in the stores will eventually run its course and fade as well -- baby shark, ryan's world, all the youtube and fortnite junk will melt away to be replaced with the next shallow meme.

So I'd kill the most annoying, immortal toy line franchise: Star Wars. Fuck Disney. No more.

One of the big problems with Fukno is their broad brand selection. They will do a Pop series devoted to a media property like a movie or cartoon or something, and then stop making them. So then a year or two down the line, some fan discovers they exist, and they might have bought a cheap bit of merch for 5$ but they aren't going to go pay 50$ on ebay for it because that's the only place to find it.

That's the problem shared by most mainline toys that appeal to nostalgia or completionists, which is why every time there's a new line of transformers or star wars they rehash the entire main cast, so they can rake it in from new and old buyers alike. Fukno shot themselves in the foot by creating a secondary resale market they aren't part of.
