>>8003157> As in, they tried to keep them at around half the price of Legends, but they weren't that much cheaper to make. You mean, that even though that they're half price the ML, they aren't half the cost to produce? No shit, since they're like 3/4ths the size of an ML and were only missing a couple of joints (back then).
Hence Fortnite and Vintage SW figures being $13 now vs $20 for Black Series figures, which is still a good price.
>Anyways I'm also sure that statements tend to be a bit exaggerated in one way or another. From the sounds of it, it's more like people take the statements that a toy maker says and exaggerates it.
OF course, a company like 4H outright states that the difference between a 4" figure and 6" one is a dollar or two difference to the fucking consumer.............................................................
Oh, and Hasbro was paying royalties when it came to the cartoon and movies characters, despite being the owners of GI Joe. That's just how that works when another company gets involved.
Also a quick note, Hasbro and retailers actually profited more from the two packs, even when they used to come with comics. Despite needing to produce two figures, that's more revenue for them. So it just goes to show that manufacturing costs aren't actually that high and they probably profited more, due to packaging costs.
This is why i'd like to see toy companies who mainly deal with online sales should just forgo any packaging and maybe pass the savings to us. IF they don't pass the savings, i honestly don't give a shit, since i toss most packaging away. I used to save almost all of Hasbro's stuff, since they featured such nice art, but the monotone shit they make now is so easy to forget it exists.
