Looks fucking awful. I had so much hope after seeing Snake Eyes. I don't mind that it's not the ARAH design, in fact I hope they don't stick too close to ARAH with this line. But this is shit. Looks like a fucking Fortnite character. Thought it was a Jazwares figure before scrolling down and seeing 'Classified Series'.

I'd love to see a 1:18 Scarlett with something like this design.

I need something to fit in with my non-Renegades Joes, with a more modern design that the 25th Scarlett who was dated in both engineering and art design.

I'm not a fan of 6 inch figures, generally, so this one doesn't really appeal to me.

Well I'm on board on all fronts so far outside of the lack of Cobra representation so far.
Feels like Renegades in a good way for me aesthetically and having not been in the toy game as that was airing/releasing this fills the void.

Anyway, I don't think that GI Joe fans are stupid. Only certain forums are stupid, because shockingly, the GI Joe threads here on /toy/ have always been great since /toy/ excited.

I think almost everyone here is open to the line, albeit disappointed in Hasbro seemingly rejecting a 4" line. I don't think there was any negativity toward the movies or cartoons figures with modern GI Joes. Sure, the movies were lame and the cartoon just OK, but everyone here was basically positive about the toylines themselves.

I'm laughing at people comparing this to fortnite. Why would Hasbro want to imitate the most popular video game with kids for their new toyline? Boggles the mind. You know the 80's line was just based off what 80s kids would think is cool, right?
Just be happy Hasbro even keeps the ARAH cast every time, considering ARAH was itself a reboot and they dumped the 60's and 70's stuff when they launched it.

Great news! Hasbro has decided to redesign all the Star Wars characters because the old ones just weren't cool enough for today's kids. Black and white are outdated. Orange and lime green are what the kids are into these days.

The only bad figure there is Scarlett, who is bad mostly for an articulation limiting action feature.

Space Force, DEF and Battle Corps were all full of fun designs and anyone who thinks "Football Fan" Bazooka is more legit than "Gone Fishin' (with grenades" Bazooka is insane.

As much as I don't give a shit about him, I feel like he would be a decent fit for a modern, more science fiction GI Joe. I mean, combine him with Super Trooper and he's Captain America. I fucking HATED sgt. Savage back when it was released because of their stupid proportions (not just the idiotic and innecesary change of scale), clown feet and their stupid hand grip that couldn't hold ANY of their weapons properly. It was double bad because I was just starting my WW2 phase so these were extra disappointing.

Having venting out now, I wouldn't mind a return to the concept but with better figures.

I had that toy. It was a disappointment of a Joe, as were a lot of the Ninja Force, even when they had great designs (like Nunchuk)

It WAS better than NF Snake Eyes, though. He was about the only one with arms coming out the bottom of his rib cage.

Then Hisstank reported that the toys were shown off in Germany, and they were 1:18 figures. Am I the only one who thinks these are a little slim on accessories? They're essentially Marvel Legends for GIJoe but without BAF parts. I feel we should be getting stuff like extra hands, heads, and more weapons. Hasbro doesn't even pay a licensing fee for this line so it's all profit. $20 is really pushing it.

Yeah they feel a little slim, but its a first wave on a new line, I don't think they want to spend to much until they know the line will make money. I do think an extra head and some hands would be nice. I mean Duke, at the very least should have a Saluting Hand, a pointing hand and a YO JOE yelling head. But I'm willing to tolerate this lack of accessories for now if by wave 3 we aren't getting more stuff with each figure I will start getting annoyed.

I usually see the same people who don't like the more sci fi twist on GI Joe also don't like when they can't have all their figures hold all their accessories. The big trees of generic, quantity over individual quality weapon sprues from the 90's figures are typically viewed as a con rather than a positive.

Capt Ace sort of filled that space-suited hole in my heart for a bit but I 'm hoping for Planet Green Valley to rise from the Carona-filled ashes and do that.

It's possible they changed her face after they got the artwork. They said they gave the artists the sculpt renders to work from and the final look of Scarlett's face is a lot different from that portrait, but it's accurate in this poster >>8010681

Interesting how in all this artwork, they’re fighting Alley Vipers. I think it has to do with that’s all the figure data they got from the team. Also with all Cobra’s different types of troops, the regular blue ones would be so boring.

While I agree the plain old blue troopers can be kinda boring, they are very much a staple of the line and the PoC ones showed how cool they could be when done up in tactical gear. But if we gotta start with a rando-viper type as Cobra's default mass produced punching bags, Alley Vipers are an A+ pick.

I'll be honest, I don't usually go for toys just because of their sex appeal, but those freckles on Scarlette just melted my heart. I was probably gonna pass her up until I saw a close up of the face and I'm gonna be *real* upset when the actual production version looks nothing like the promo pics.
