New interview with Hasbro over the TVC line discussing how the line works and things they've learned. Main take aways-
1. The reason they repacked so many Reys and Jyn Ersos was to have them on the pegs for new collectors and pad out the line. They said that they're now keep such repacks for fan channels; online releases and such that they don't count to the main retail line, because they don't want to see figures dying on the pegs because everyone already has them.
2. Because of this there's fewer waves at retail: 3 WAVES a year of TVC.
3. They're pushing to have more NEW figures, but that means these waves are smaller, ONLY 4 FIGURES per wave.
4. There still has to be a certain number of repacks; 1 per wave, totaling 3 REPACKS minimum.
5. They have 9 slots for NEW FIGURES and REPAINTS take up a new figure slot, so if fans want to see a figure, they have to be careful what they ask for, because it might take up a slot that COULD be used for a NEW figure; don't let a repack take a slot a new figure.
6. There will be a number of online repacks still and those online repacks DO NOT take up slots for the 12 figures a year we'll see at retail.
7. Due to the limited number of new figures it makes it tricky to cover everything, because Hasbro says they WANT to make a lot more Mandalorian characters and want to do MORE TCW, and Fallen Order and video game stuff, but have things from the movies to do and to try and fill up slots for the original 96(shit nobody but OT fags in their 50's care about), as well as catering to fans who want a character on a new cardback that has already been released(again OT fags).
8. Hasbro wants to know what 9 NEW figures YOU want.
9. Hasbro wants to know what REPACKS you want- They will have photoreal and possibly minor tweaks or upgrades.
