Harry Cane was last seen in an Adventurers set which was a blimp/zeppelin. Now he's reappeared but in Hidden Side as a ghost, but haunting the skies. Put 2 and 2 together and it seems likely that there was some accident aboard the zeppelin and he died (could also be why Lego have only attempted making a blimp set once too), and now he haunts the skies.

It's so infamous that Lego made an official statement about it.
Was that part from a recent set? Because they claimed that they would've fixed the issue like last year but I wouldn't be surprised if that was a load of bull.

As a whole Lego decreased massively in quality and clips are notorious for cracking, no matter the color (although not completely in half like yours did).

To be honest. I wanted to buy a big Castle, but found out those retards discontinued castles.
Harry Potter was the next best thing. But the 6k pieces Hogwarts uses those nano figs? STAR WARS is highly expensive, and my store didn't carry a good set at all. City sets looked the worst.

in the early 00s, could have been late 90s, i got a lego technic car for christmas. i remember it looked something like a buggy. and there as a "button" at the back that changed the suspension of the car. there were also two different versions that you could build out of the same parts. i remember a video game based on the car model as well.

for that to work the bricks would have to be only 2 plates tall, but bricks are 3 plates. you can see this by the space at the bottom. if you put a plate between them you can fit a 3x2 on them.

I got the sky police diamond heist set a few weeks back on clearance and built it last night.

Modded out the helicopter so that the rotor/turbines can rotate. Also added a door to the back to seal it up.

I get what they were going for, that kinda futuristic, what I would call somewhat cyberpunk inspired helicopter, but yeah the wheels do look a bit awkward due to their size. There are larger wheels that actually work better as they fit the rotor down inside them. I used them once before to make a cyberpunk inspired chopper out of the yellow GotG mining ship.

I do like the truck to. At some point I'll have a look and see if the parts exist that I could use to make it at least another 2 studs wide, as the major complaint I do have about it, is that it looks too narrow/thin.

A 2x2 brick is the size of five plates on their side. So two of them bricks atop is too tall as they are 3 plates high each!

Because in the past they needed to maintain a mold for the sprue of feathers AND a separate mold for the small flame piece, but now they just have to maintain the mold for the small flame piece.

It's more cost-effective to use the same molds across multiple lines than to have unique molds for each line.

They're still doing a very bad job of matching fleshtone or other clothing colors in prints on dark plastic. It doesn't bother me that much, but I wish they would just design around it if they can't do it right or have better consistancy. I have two minecraft Steves from the same $10 set in front of me. One looks like they put down a primer coat and the other has a bit of mercy face.

I started buying a bunch of old castle sets on ebay and bricklink because thats what I liked when I was a kid but I see so much good shit has come out in the last 30 years... Every piece is printed and unique. There are 4 small columns with hieroglyps you can find on each of 4 unique printed maps (20,40,60,80)
In addition in Temple, two slopes are unique (each one is different) and two 6stud walls too.

CMFs have always been Chinese made and the quality of printing has always been decent, but with this new series they've switched to making them in Denmark and the printing is noticably worse. This set is so dumb. It comes with wedge plates with one in bright green and one in dark blue. The chiral counterpart of the former doesn’t even exist as a part. How gay is that?

Almost the entire Lego community has no balls.
Just look at that recent Jang review of that City ripcord helicopter transporter where it clearly didn't work at all and his conclusion was more or less "oh well, the recommended age range will probably find some fun and entertainment in it".
Meanwhile some of the German reviewers have MUCH harsher comments on those things with one going so far that he printed out Lego's quality assurance for the review to show how that thing goes against everything they stand for and should've never ended up on the shelves.
His conclusion was that he's flat out refunding the helicopter transporter set because 50 bucks for that shit is absolutely offensive especially now that Lego's competition is starting to look more and more attractive in comparison.

This set wasn’t even on my radar but when I found it on clearance, I figured 80 bucks for 1200 pieces, what the hell. At any rate I would have expected them to have the sense to integrate the opposite wedges somewhere else in the model, even if they were just used in the structural foundation. As far as I’m concerned that’s what they ought to have done.

Right there with you guys. I have been forcing myself to get back to reading though, and hopefully MOCing in time. Really helps to just schedule your time and just get a checklist of things you need to get done. I've found it to help me clear out time for my hobbies, and once I get a few more things done I hope to do some MOCs soon.

You know it isn't "Legos". You've had FUCKING YEARS to adjust to the actual, correct way to say the term. It's Lego. Lego bricks, Lego sets, Lego kits, Lego mini-figures, Lego City.

There are no such things as "Legos". They don't exist. "Lego" refers to the COMPANY THAT MAKES THE TOY, and thus the shortening Lego is acceptable. Saying "I'm playing with my Lego" works because it's referring to the sets themselves: The individuals aspects that make of the toy from the bricks to the mini-figures to the electronics to the other little parts. It isn't claiming that the fucking square bricks are each a Lego. THE ENTIRE THING IS. If you were to say "I'm playing with my Legos" that implies that you're playing with at least two different types of Lego set at once, i.e. Lego City and Bionicle.

Still saying LEGOS after all these years makes you look like an assclown. Here in Europe, the continent responsible for this toy (no, it wasn't made by America, no matter how much your capitalistic toy industry wants you to think), you'd be laughed out of the room if you said that.

Is there actually any limit on how many replacement parts you can order from Lego?

In the last few months I've made multiple orders because the issue of parts cracking from just staying connected is simply ridiculous by now to the point that I don't even try to connect clip parts whenever possible.
Also, at least two orders never arrived despite getting a confirmation e-mail.

I picked up a packet of the extra designs and I might pick up that pineapple kit which was pretty cutesy.
Can't see myself using the emoji icons except the lightning or possibly the skull one.

I build mecha at about that scale somewhat often, and I've found that Mobile Frame Zero is a pretty good resource for technical inspiration.

It's going to be a lot of mixel joints, clips, and SNOT brackets, though.

'Leaf' is a mess right now. It was intended to be the 'big theme' reveal for Summer but with Monkey Kid pushed back they are faced with conflicting interest if they revealed both at the same time.

It's still cool just because its so fucking huge for the price and no stickers is great but overall I didn't love it as much as I thought I would. I guess you can't really ask for more pieces but the stand is also really shitty, would have rather they added $10 to the price and made something a little sturdier.

Actually, now that I’m browsing through the pieces, its even gayer than I thought; the dark blue and lime plates aren’t even counterparts of each other. Whoever designed this set should be fired, desu. Besides, they could have at least used two dark blue wedge plates in the same configuration on the other side. What a bunch of fuckers.

Colors act as a backdrop, white as the 'sky' to reflect light off of since your ceiling is likely too far. That type of large cardpaper is usually at hobby stores. Some people use cloth as backdrops too, to hide the corner. Hardware store might have the lamp, and I guess hardware to adjust/affix the paperboard.

all you really need is a camera on a tripod, large sheet of paper to lean against something, and 2 or more lamps standing around not pointed directly at the subject. Put camera on 2-sec delay so the photo is nice and sharp, and done.

nta but:

1. I just rest my hands on the table for 99% of my pictures

2. I have a tripod that I use for certain shots when I can't rest my hands on the table (usually when I'm taking a worm's-eye shot from underneath and need to have the object at the edge of the table, or when I'm setting up something that's precariously balanced and I don't want to risk shaking the table). I got my tripod for $20 on amazon.
