-Get the box and throw it in the trash
-laugh at what i just said then keep the box

I keep some stuff in poly plastic bags and keep them inside a storage box instead of trying to display everything, and mix it up now and again. It also helps keep some things clean.

Problem is that i have so many bins full of plastic bags, and i also dont know where everything is. I wish i could be more well organized but it seems so hard. Doesnt help i cant focus and am admittedly lazy.

If you're the kind of person who doesn't care about boxes and has stuff with swappable parts, start sorting your smaller pieces into organizers. You can find smaller ones at the dollar store that are good for small bits for stuff like figma, nendo, etc...

Larger stuff I mostly have in bags, but some people buy the bigger organizers with drawers for larger pieces like faceplates.

Make sure you actually label your bins clearly. My parents have a garage FULL of bins and only some are labeled. So it's a guessing game to what's in the others. Label your boxes/bins on at least two sides, so depending on how they're placed, you can always see a label.

Try to separate your stuff a bit better then just all the toys/figs just in bins. Makes it a lot easier to find like, one specific Gundam if you have them with other Gundam/robot/Mecha/etc...

$30 for something like this at Target and you can probably find it cheaper elsewhere.

I have exactly two shelves I use for display. They typically hold about 40 figures total. I know once I start running out of space, it's time to sell off the shit I don't care about that much. My trick is to not spend that money on more toys. I'll use it for other hobbies like music or art projects, or for shit I actually need like food or bills. Then I'll slowly buy more toys with whatever disposable income I can reasonably spend on them. This keeps a slow stream of toys coming in over time and keeps the hobby interesting and fun for me. If I'm constantly spending, collecting, and losing space, it can be a real problem. I do have an addictive personality and I was a pretty terrible drug addict for a number of years, so when I do end up selling figures off, it feels healthy to do so. At one point it did end up getting pretty bad. I was spending way more than I should have and the figures were uncomfortably piling up, but I recognized what was happening and sold a bunch off. I've seen bad toy addicts before and I don't wanna be that guy.

You can clean them first with water and dish soap. Unfortunately it's not a permanent solution, they'll need to be cleaned once a year, at least, if not more. I've also read you can clean, and then finish with dusting them with baking powder to soak up residuals, and then clean that off.

go and buy a shelf. put that shelf together and then decide what one specific style or genre you like to see on that shelf for front. the stuff that means the most to you and put those things on that shelf. take the time and go through your stuff you'll enjoy it. once you're done with that repeat.

I did this today. A sort of yearly rotation. For the "inspiration" shelf. Quite a few went back into the box, but a few I haven't seen in a while came back out to visit.
