Anon, are you talking about digivice toys? It's not about racking up a huge number of steps, you take steps until a battle initiates, if you don't answer the battle cry, you lose. You wouldn't get anywhere by walking away.

Literally the one in the OP. You'd need set amount of steps to get to certain things, so I'd figure out the step gain rate on the fan, time it, and go fuck around until I needed to come back.
