>>8035914>their hair is a nightmare to deal withYep, I noticed this right away. The ones with the straight hair are okish if you don't mess with them too much, but the ones with curled hair are an issue since not much hair spray is added to maintain the hair style.
The dirty little secret to these dolls is that they don't have a lot of hair. They give off the illusion of having a lot of hair by making it long, but not thick. Instead giving the doll a full head of rooted hair they attach the hair all around the hat of the doll like a crown. This is what dollar store dolls do to save money on hair as well. They just root a crown of hair plugs all around the dolls head and than they pull it back into a pony tail so no one notices. Na Na Na dolls hide the fact that they don't have much hair by curling it to give off the illusion of volume, and by making the hat non-removable. Remove the hat and the doll is bald.
>Anyone got any good tips on maintaining it without ripping out huge chunks from the wig? When you pull the doll out of the ball their hair is twisted up and styled perfectly, but since the isn't much hair spray the hair will start to get wild if you mess with it too much. Whenever I notice that the hair is starting to spread out or become too loose I will twisted it right back up tightly in the same direction that it was factory twisted. That way it stays as nice as possible.
The ones with straight hair are the easiest. If the hair looks a little messy I'll brush it out ever so softly to make sure it doesn't get tangled, but I don't brush hard because it might cause the hair to come out sometimes. Remember that the hair isn't rooted to the dolls head. It's sewn around the dolls hat. Pull on it too much and it may come out if it's not sewn on well.
I apologize for the wall of text. Hope this helps a little.
