Hey everyone I can shed some light on things.
We are getting a $200 D2C for Mario due to release at some point in the summer. There will also be the usual polybags, gift with purchase sets, and a Comic Con exclusive. There is a lot more planned for 2021 as well.
I see no reason for there to not be minifigure based sets, especially a D2C. Why would they do this big figure format in a D2C set? How stupid would that be?
>>8044482I believe we'll get both. The normal minifig scale sets can will include the 2x2 printed tiles the Mario figure can scan.
>>804388650% certain these will be alternative outfits for the Mario figure alongside a small obstacle build to add on to your collection.
>>8043843I'm sure these will be power ups or something. They will not be a minifigure series, there will be no CMF series in 2020, if there were, it'd be set number 71027-71029 to go with the rest of the minifigure series range.
>>8043578It's actually extremely expensive to produce a new mold or print, a 3x3 tile is brand new and has a lot of uses outside of a Shy Guy face. You're just being a douche.
>>8043345No? BrickHeadz sell very well, it's why we're continuing to get more in 2020 and 2021. Lots haven't been revealed yet.
>>8043283Mario will come in the 71360 $59.99 Starter Set
>>8043259When it was necessary, aka for purely minifigures. They were even going to do special weapons but the budget didn't allow it. I believe they needed to put the funding into other themes. I think someone mentioned that in 2018 the Jurassic line took money from the Potter line, or vice versa, for new molds and prints. They are very limited in this stuff.
