Mechtech was such an awful gimmick. I mean sure it didn't directly impact the figures the way Automorph and Mechalive did, but when you make guns so bad that even Titans Return bucket guns look good, there's a problem.

It really needed a locking mechanism for the weapons because most of them spend alot of the time looking like featureless blocks instead of actual weapons. There were a few good ones though like Darksteel/Quickstrike's dual naginata.

Not compared to the Bay films in terms of stupid box office returns.
Budget was 100ish million, made 450+ mil. Yet there is talk of a sequel last I saw.
I did like the G1 designs and would like to see them return.

On the topic of the beast era. I'm working on a story concept (mostly for fun) for a beast machines redo, and so far it does involve some alterations to the Nemesis, mostly for the sake of operating with the understanding of the next part of the story.

Who should absolutely survive who didnt and what changes should I make to the beast machines plot to make it flow better, I know I'm going to give the technorganic forms access to more traditional weapons, and remove that stupidity where they didnt kill megatron when they had a chance.

Megs should definitely survive.
But instead, have them actually put him on trial, with undercover decepticons (strika & obsidian?) manipulating things to treat all the maximals as "tainted" with Megatron's punishment being mandatory removal of his beast side. The council uses Megatron as the poster child for this sort of reform and pushes for all the maximals, and any cybertronian with remnants of beast forms to be "purged"
Megatron will eventually turn on his new masters, taking over their hordes of vehicons to create an uprising, with the maximals trying to stop him. Basically g1 2 electric boogaloo

So you're thinking of dropping the in media res opening fully and having the tripredicus council be the starting antagonists? Interesting. Is there a specific justification for the anti beast mode slant?

I had some ideas myself. Among them, tigerhawk surviving but getting split back into tigertron and airazor by those devolver weapons, and one of the two gets turned into a new vehichon general.

Inferno and quickstrike also live and were scooped up for the trip back to cybertron, inferno also gets vehichoned by megs but without any need for reprogramming. Meanwhile quick ends up either as am ally with the maximals or with my other idea. An independent predacon team the maximals meet mid story.

When buying transformers from Taiwan, is there a way to tell if they'll be knock offs beforehand.

There doesn't seem to be any confirmed imitation of Siege toys yet, i.e. those KOs that try to imitate Hasbro packaging or are sold loose to pass off as authentic.

There was a rumored imitation KO of Siege Jetfire but I can't find any concrete confirmation of it on the chinese forums.

Obviously there's the "safe" KOs that put their branding on the box by BPF and AOYI. It's very unlikely that sellers will pass these off as originals since they are OSed.

Now that we've got Doubledealer, now is the time to bring in a Powermaster Optimus Prime with an actual Powermaster partner.

Hopefully it's a gimmick they'll expand in the future.

The Breastforce would work the same way, with little cassette guys, so that's Deathsaurus sorted (Tigerbreast and Eaglebreast as Ravage and Laserbeak retools--probably renamed the Beast Force or something).

So my local fucking Walmart has decided to go back to the dark days of not fucking ordering the main Generation line in favor of instead only stocking movie and basic bitch kids TF toys and G1 reissues.

So in the coming months I'm going to have to fucking start ordering Earthrise shit online.

Which leads me to ask: is Iron Works worth a shit? I still have the original base version from G1 and this one doesn't even have the fake sandlot stickering or windmill. I never bought any of the previous weaponizers so for those who have bought Iron Works and perhaps have bought more than one of him, how many do I need to buy to build something that is passable as an actual fort/base for the Micromasters?

And Ironworks is a fucking joke of epic proportions. They should have just made him a non-transforming base; making him a robot that turns into a super half-assed "base" (if you can even call his deformed "alt form" a base) was a huge insult to fans

I replaced mine so you can't see how it broke but maybe I can take a photo when I get home later. The front of the truck splits in two and each half has tabs that plug in to a central piece to form the chest. I broke one of those tabs because it's a colossal pain in the dick to make that whole section come together properly.

You aren't missing much. The fact that you don't see anyone posting fan made base modes with Ironworks like they did the other weaponizer bots, kind of sums up that he's a lemon that you aren't missing much not buying.

I'd be more concerned if I was you, with saving up to buy Scorponoks; Omega Supreme had a super brief release where they did a super small production run that sold out ASAP. And Scorponok is going to be in way higher demand than Omega Supreme.

Ironworks definitely doesn't stack up to the Powermasters but I do like his industrial aesthetic. Unfortunately compared to the weaponizers he's pretty barren. They didn't even give him his windmill probably because the budget was wasted on dipping his arm in paint. I'll still get him should there ever be a sale since I'm getting Airwave too.

Back in February, someone posted some decent base mode pictures of Iron Works done up as a spaceship, a ghetto aircraft carrier, and an assembly line. But the guy who posted them said it took him about 3-4 Iron Works to create those modes.

My childhood was beast wars. But they immediately ruined it with beast machines. Theres a lot of potential but the writers they had on beast wars are better than the writers they have on actual science fiction these days so I would have no hope for the show. Nope, surprisingly its own mold, most of it anyway, it comes with a sideswipe head.

Constructobot decepticon head, removed the built in mushrom and drilled a whole for the new neck, but you can use pretty much any head, tons of room inside.

Also classics Sunstreaker arms, the whole thing with the balljoint posts, just unscrew the stock shoulders, insert the new arms to the build in post and just put back the screw through some plastic cover to keep the arms in place.

*you have to swing back the shoulders for transformation, like his right arm on the pic.

Its ok, almost the same as RiD Strongarm (just checked, thats why shes on the pic).

Other than that, I just painted his abs and thighs, might add heels later.

I'd go with this, except I prefer the Marvel Grimlock persona where he's actually pretty smart. Moot point since I don't even have any other dinobots, though.

Slash is the designated tracker for my Autobot squad. I like to imagine her as being leader material, so she left the dinobots to get out of Grimlock's shadow. She's pals with White Leo and Doublecross, and learns the way of the knight from Cogman.

If they will make earth rise ratchet or ironhide, they already have the blueprint! They just need to fine tune it with a bit more articulation and folding panels and it's good to go!

SS54 Megatron is such a weird figure. He looks absolutely gorgeous in robot mode, despite the huge shins. His alt mode is both kinda nothing, with chest and arms just hanging there and legs flipping on the top, but the way wings and nosecone unfold is almost 3P-tier (and everything tabs together nicely, unlike some other SS figures).
Silver paint probably contributes the most to making it best Megs we'll be getting in Studio Series (although I wouldn't mind being positively surprised with TLK Megatron).

Yeah that was me. Basic premise had Bludgeon as the main perpetrator of the Rape of Nanking, and in present day (late 80’s) wants to create an army of Destrons to take over the world with the help of a CEO of a Japanese car manufacturer for troops.

Windblade crashes on earth with Drift, befriends the daughter of an inventor that works for the evil human, Drift is seemingly killed so Windblade travels with human girl to avenge him/stop Bludgeon.

Movie makes legitimate statements on prejudice that aren’t explicitly misogyny but totally are.

Not really, they clearly nicked TR's headmaster engineering but the rest of him is designed like a movie toy with lots of robot parts hidden inside that almost but not quite look entiely unlike the vehicle he transformed from and a significant chunk of said vehicle is folded up on his back. They even tweaked the seating area to be more like a real world car and fit two headmasters. There's no way he was meant to be some other non headmaster character or originally a regular TR transformer. They just needed a toy to represent the character and it worked out the way it did.

I finally completed all 3 Unicron Trilogy Lines

I found a Beachcomber at a comic shop and he was the last guy I was missing. I can now double stack all the torso combiner dudes with a repaint including Downshift since I got his Universe counterpart
