>>8047754>>face looks nothing like the pixel art from gameI just did a side by side comparison of the SHF Vega/M. Bison with the HD Remix Sprite (I couldn't find a sprite from the original game in high enough resolution to do a proper comparison). The SHF looks bang on with the HDR version. It even has a hint of jowls, like the sprite.
SHF pic is just an official product shot. The sprite can be found on Streetfighter.fandom
>>face looks nothing like avatar art from gameTrue. The avatar art are distinct from the sprites as well as the concept arts. The SHF seem to be based more on the sprites.
>>face looks nothing like art from the gamePic related is the cover art for Streets of Rage 2. The point I'm trying to make is, in the 80s/90s, the sprites do not look like the cover art. Doesn't matter if it's Street Fighter or Final Fantasy or whatever. Heck, until we hit games like Dissidia, no Final Fantasy sprite or model looked like Yoshitaka Amano's art.
Using the SF2 cover art and saying the toys don't resemble the art there is, I'm sorry to say, a weaker argument than saying they don't resemble the victory/defeat avatar art.
Look, I get it. You prefer the SC version. You want to encourage others to get the SC version. But there's no need to be a "stop liking what I don't like kid"-meme.
Just live and let live. OP asked for some opinions and gave his criteria (which is that the toys should integrate well with his collection). The SHF versions are clearly the route he should go with at this time. If OP's collection was mostly comprised of larger figures like NECA, then SC would be the way to go.
We gotta remember, while the SHF aren't perfect, neither are the SC. SC Chun Li's infamous for having a tired old crack whore face and SC Vega/Bison has known QC issues with the thinness of his skirt flaps and the pre-broken ball joint issue. They're still good toys overall, but not appropriate for what OP's asking.
