I really really like it. I understand why people don't like the stylisation but I think it's been blown way out of proportion (ha). It blows the old PAKs of the Anniversary Mk. V out of the water. The mixed response just highlights to me how amazing it would be to have a real high-end options for completely screen-accurate Spartans. That said, I adore the look of this figure and simply cannot wait to get it, I assume sometime in October because there's no way it's getting out on time this month.

Classic comic book illustrations are dated. Classic video game characters are dated and "low poly" but that's never stopped companies from making accurate representations before.

Making an "accurate" representation of a low-poly in game model is going to result in a really shitty looking toy. I love OG Halo but the graphics haven't aged that well; if you want a decent toy of the designs you need to take some creative liberties with the model, starting with giving it more than 10 polygons. That Samus didn't just take the Gamecube model and put it in plastic because that would look like shit. Heck, that applies to most game models- McFarlane's Halo figures are really accurate but pose like garbage because they wouldn't take any liberties with the sculpt to allow the joints any range of motion.

I wanted to jump on it bad but couldn't justify the price. I've recently gotten into modeling and had splurged on a few kits. Kinda regretting it now.
I love the style of it, even more than the original design. I can understand how some are upset, but I'd rather have a cool take like this than having every kit trying to mimic the original.
